Why is it sooo expensive to have gardens?? i understand they want money pits but 3 gardens costing 100k is a bit much i think, now a metropolis has room for id say 20 gardens id think or more sooo why not just make that 200k there 10k a garden a week, i think that would be fair i mean cmon its a freaken garden all it does is sit there and make your dismal town of ugly grey houses and ditches look somewhat nice(talking about corillia here) i think it would make alote of people happy who just want to decorate but dont want to pay 5 million credits aweek for dam gardens, that just like 1% decay in PvP will not make people want to place to many gardens because its WAAAAAY to expensive.

Hi all,

Newly master archi and a keen real life horti whatsits name, I am loving creating City Structures and gardens, My local Mayor places things as he will and so far MV is looking pretty cool.

I have checked on the advanced guides section of the website, and can see the Naboo large med small etc, plus the dant, endor and dath ones will go anywhere ie generic.

My issue is this.........

As the city has grown, and houses placed. when we want to plonk say a large garden we have a snag.
Houses are a little to close together or the terrain just wont have it.

On the fisrt part:- there is enough room to place a med house in the spot but not enough room to place a med garden. this is baffling.

On the second part: a house need foundations and understandably if the terrain is a bit bumpy or has a small valley in it
then it cant go down; but a gardener would either level the ground or fill in the "valley" ( we r taling a couple feet wide and a foot deep) not some massive ravine.

Its almost like we should have placed the gardens and then built the city, madness.

Can anything be done?

Is there "web site" or a guid that tells u how big or small the foot print is ?

Thanks for any advice
Frank

Actually, there's a really cool online city planning tool.

I can't remember the link off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure that it's stickied over in the Politician forum.

As for terrain, gardens are just like any other building. In the early days of the game, terrain played a major factor in placement of houses. When they added player cities, they adjusted houses so you could place them on much more irregular terrain. Before then you'd NEVER see a house that looked like it was built up on a huge concrete slab. In fact, the game adjusted the other way and actually buried a little of the house in the ground. If you stood right at the doorway it looked like a mudslide had come into your living room.

Anyway, they didn't loosen the restrictions on harvesters and factories so I'd imagine that gardens play by the same terrain rules.

If you look closely, the footprints for gardnes are larger than those fora coinciding house. IE, a Large Garden has abigger footprint than a Large House.

As far as small ravines. We have placed gardens in ravines that you describe in our city without problems. One of our gardens was even placed where one corner of the concrete slab was off the ground, so that you could see underneath the corner.

I've tried not be be a noob about all this...but since CSRs can't answer my stupid question...

I'm trying to get some gardens made for my city. I was able to get the Dantooine Shrine and the Meditation Area...but my friend said that he has no option to craft the Corillian Arch Pathway gardens. Is there still this improvement in the game? Where is it and how do you make this?

Sorry for the noob coming out in me (haven't asked a noob question since month 1 lol). Thanks for your time and help!

Large garden.

In teh crafting section where you can name the item there should be a drop down menu to change which garden it is you are creating.

Curious.
Im on Bria, and there are not many gardens listed in the vendor search.

What gardens can be placed on Lok?
I know houses you can place generic, and Tatooine..
butall Tatooine garden deeds I've seen, only list (Tatooine)
I did see that some Corellian ones have Talus as an alter option.

Some help would be great
