Thread: retiring

Hey guys,

Just thought I'll let people know I'm retiring from cheffing. Not because of bugs or "inattention," but because I just can't do anymore factory runs. Really began to feel way too much like real-world work. After a long day of students staring at me blankly, then grading their tests (cursing the whole time), the last thing I have been wanting to do is do factory runs for four hours and then log off feeling unsatisfied.

I'd like to thank everyone here on the chef boards that have made my stay enjoyable. And my greatest thanks goes to SirVimes, the best Correspondent any profession could have!

It has been an interesting, and sometimes frustrating trip, but after about four (or has it been five?) months of cheffing, its time for me to move on. I think i'm gonna go combat and kill lots of stuff and focus on some of the ideas I have for Player-Driven Content for Role-Players.

Best of Luck to Everyone! I hear the overhaul is gonna be awesome! Hope everyone can fill orders without burning out...

Umbrella Corp? Remind me never to use their skin cream...

Sorry to hear you go, but this is one reason I took up Commando, and have only been Cheffing casually. Good luck on your endeavors. We are glad you stuck through it.

Good luck =) Sorry to hear you're leaving but I know that just doing merchant/vendor stuff can get me feeling pretty burned out hehe. Take care!

Aleka,

We already miss ya at Umbrella. I was honored to be your partner low these many months now. The food just isn't "evil" enough anymore. Count me in for your player driven content (have some ideas of my own now, hehehe) and I'm always up for a good fight.

Like Aleka said, we now have an opening for a chef at Umbrella. Interested chefs send an ingame email or tell to goldmember. Evil, greedy chefs preferred.

grumble.. not another one

I don't think its your fault at all and you shouldn't be titled as the "Correspondent who couldn't fix anything" we have had poll after poll after top issues to show the devs what we would like. Berserker barrels, Ws toolsets holding items. How hard can it be to make this happen? Stupid devs ... /grumble

I gotta say this yet again. EQ is teh ub3r suxxorz as one of my customers may put something. People are leaving left right centre

I think we all know what it's like shouting at the rain...expending all possible effort only to see nothing in return. It's never easy to see your efforts go in vain, especially when a gag rule leadssomeof the people you're representing to assume you're doing nothing at all, andexpress themselves in...less than cordial waysBut never once in your tenure here (and it certainly has been longer than most), did I feel our interests were not being heard by the development team, and for that, I thank you.

We were the victims of being a small, and relatively smooth-running minority, such that when we do have problems, they tend to get "prioritized" away. Certainly you can't be blamed for that. All we can hope is that now that some of the bigger projects are out of the way, we can get some deliverance on things that have been plaguing us for months now.

Thank you for your serviceand best of luck in whatever life brings your way next.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this frustrating job as a correspondent. In rememberance I will name my first berserker rifle "Logix" (in 6 months or so...)

When SOE is starting to name a bunch of simple bugfixes a "publish" you know that something is wrong, but at least they started to fix a few things (Wookiee grenade certification!!!). Hey, wouldn't that be the one thing you got fixed since there is no Wookiee correspondent?
