Why not read the 'FAQ' or 'Architect for Dummies' threads ?

Rather than explain it here I will point you in that direction as there are some basic instructions, and then there are some very detailed ideas. This would be a good place to start.

Come back if you need more info after reading these.

At the risk of surpasing the FAQ which is a valuable tool I will be happy to tell you what you need. You will want material with 900+ Unit Toughness, Shock Resistance, and Heat Resitance. For Metals you will want Duralloy Steel, perhaps Carbonite Steel. You will need Steel but you can also use other metals besides steel Kammris Irons will work just fine for the secondary metal. You will want a Chemical without Unit Toughness and Shock resistance stats. Best bet is collect Lubricating Oil as it doesn't carry these stats and won't mess with your final assembly values. Use the 900+ materials and/or any lubricating oil and/or inert gas to build your extraction mechanism. You should get an effectiveness rating above 25% on assembly and should be able to experiment it's value to over 90% probably closer to 95%, the higher the better. If you have an extraction mechanism (i.e. ore mining unit, turbo fluidic drilling pump, etc.) you will need the same kind of materials for your final assembly. Use the Duralloy steel and lubricating oil for your final assembly and you should be able to get a 25%+ assembly on the extraction you should be able to experiment the extraction to over 85%at which point you will be at 13BER for a heavyharvester.
