Ok I just thought of this in literally 10 seconds so it will unfold more as I type.
I was reading a post about secondary structure decay, it sounded alright, but I as a customer would hate it. I take weeks to months to decorate my house and I love doing it... but to get it just right and have to pay a bunch... ugh.
Anyways, so I was thinking that maintinance via credits should be thrown out all together. Instead of maintinance, your house should have a storage inventory. Now, this inventory would not hold any items, just specialized items made by architects. Architects would get the option to create new items that repair houses. Instead of putting credits into the void, you put them into the hands of architects and get these repair items in return. Simply place them in the inventory of your structure and the consumable items will be used up over time.
Pros -
Architects would make more money, as buying houses would no longer be a once a lifetime thing.
Another item to make - more fun... for me atleast.
Increase player ineteraction, give players a reason to go out and talk to somebody.
Cons -
Inflation would increase, as maintinance is probably the number one credit sink
Could possibly get annoying having to find an architect.
Anyways, I'm just throwing out the idea - you guys elaborate.

i'd prefer they give us more items in our houses, and just up the maitenance period. maitenance is too low, make it challenging to maintain a large house but make it so we can store a bunch of stuff, and furnish it the way we want.
more items in houses = less houses on the server per person
more maitenance = more cash going back into the system...everyone's too rich these days anyway and the 33K payout Janta missions bring in billions of credits that don't get re-cycled.
i wouldn't mind paying 500K a month or more on my Large Naboo house if i could store more than 250 items in there. after all, it is like a mansion, ya?

Might as well use those repairing droids to fix the decay on your house items.
I would like to see more items in houses also...

Never really understood the whole decay crap anyway. I live in South Alabama (yeah I know sucks to be me) and I can drive d#mn near anywhere in this state and find houses that have been standing for a good hundred years or so. Even unkept houses still stand. My Grandpa has a 400 acre lot of land he lives on, and in the back he has an old log cabbin house form the early pioneer times... it still stands, and noone has kept it up in probably 60+ years at least. I could take about 3k in cash spend 2 months cleaning it up, and it'll be just as good as new.
