Thread: Heavy/Medium Harvesters vs Personal

Has anyone had any experience with the Heavy or Medium sized harvesters? I'm wonderoung about how much you extract per hour compared to the personal harvester. With the personal Harvester I get around 120/hour at a 90+% area.

The reason I wonder is because to get master Architect it will take 600k+ in resources. At the rate of 8 personal harvesters that is 625 hours of harvesting. I'm justtrying to figure out exactlyhow much the new harvesters will help.

Medium harvester do 4kg/hr Large harvester do 7kg/hr at the end of beta

maintence/power is double/quad of personal IIRC

do not remember lot usage... anyone remember how many lot they take?

Can people who get Contruction II make mediums, or do they have a component that requires another box in Architect?

Example, I understand that factories require something from building I...

Harvesters are found in the Installations line, not Construction.

And yes, there is an item you obtain in Buildings I that I believe is used for the factory deeds in Installations I. Can't remember what it's called, small strcuture storage blah blah something.

that's structure storage

heavy harvester cost 3 times the upkeep of small one, not quad.

But they are horrible to build (6 wall modules ... )

I mean only mediums, not factories.

Is there anything outside the row of boxes that makesmedium harvestersthat is required to make medium harvesters?

I wish we could see schematic info on thinsg we could not make yet, it's right there in the database anyway/.

I found *the* database. Finally. After lots of looking.

http://www.swgcenter.com/

Click on the spec in question, and you'll see what it requires, and can follow those links to see what skill tree they need for subcomponents.

Rock.

I just checked this site :

some schematics are wrong :

example : Deep Crust Chemical Extractor :

they forgot to count the ressources needed by the 6 wall modules ( 60 structural modules, thats 12k ore and 3k metal)

Zul - I wish that was my problem, I had that too, but not now, now I am still borked, 4 hours later I think.

On 2/hr etc, what matters is the relative numbers. In Beta personal were 5/hr, then they were made 2/hr. 4/hr is double 2/hr so whatever you get for personal will be double for mediums.

IMHO the one and only advantage these have is that they use one lot.

The "kg/hr" rate is deceiving. It really tells you nothing. It means units/minute. So 2kg/hr means 2units/minute. That means a personal harvester on a 100% vein can harvest 2880 units of resources in one day.

The problem with medium harvesters is that they take up so much space and are so picky about flat land.

I've never seen/placed a large but they probably have the same problem as mediums.

They all take up 1 lot.

Personally I feel Medium Harvesters should give you 5 kg/hr and large should be 10- 12 kg/hr. The amount of resource cost difference should justify higher yields from larger ones. Even if the largest took 2 lots instead of 1 (even though I want it to stay at 1 lot) it would be almost 6 times as effective as a small. Which is how it should be anyway considering it takes over 6 times the resources.

Griswel,

Try Crafting a new Structural Crafting Tool. My Generic Crafting Tools Stuck open on me when I overloaded my inventory and the hopper had nowhere to put the item I just created.

It should let you do it. If it does, just destroy the old ones and make a new set.

Hope that helps.
