im just curious as to how much of an architech Zarcath really is.
I think for future reference that (and zarcath i dont know if your one or not) all reps must be a master architect and have built at least 1 of everything.
Not really flaming you zarcath, i would just like to know if you only went up the furniture tree or you are actively pursueing master or are master.

I think this might be a fair requirement for correspondents later, but I don't think it's totally necessary. Especially for the initial set of them, somebody who had already hit Master was probably spending too much time playing the game to spend much time dealing with the boards.
What's needed in a correspondent is more communications skills (and sincere willingness to do a thankless job and take a lot of abuse for no real compensation) than XP in the profession itself. In fact I would rather the profession correspondent position not be a matter of competition on the basis of in-game skill. I don't want l33+D00d-142 coming along and driving everybody crazy by whining that he has more XP and therefore is entitled to the correspondent position.

He's a master, has been for some time, and has made a good living of it. Now go away.

oh, arent you a kind soul. thanks for being an uptight prude.
how about you going away.
I think its a fair requirement especially when somebody is so completely clueless about whats really needed in the profession.
Hell even some of the other correspondants are putting in the same bugs each week because they know that if it doesnt get fixed now, it will get overlooked and be considered not that important.
This is what we need in a rep. somebody who doesnt have a single focus on one side of the tree in which zarcath has clearly demonstrated. we need somebody who understands the bigger picture.
Think about this. most of the same bugs we are complaining about now, have been around since beta. have they gotten fixed yet? NO why? because they didnt listen to us then and they arent taking us seriously now.
I really wish yall would get down to the post bugs over and over until they are fixed mentality because if we dont, we will just become red headed step children and replace commando's as the most broken class. You know the commandos are next to get a good look at, hell look at how much they complained.
Its the people that think theres nothing really wrong with the profession thats going to kill our profession.

Look at the top 5 lists. Tell me what % of issues are furniture related. Look at the number of trees we have. Compare the %'s. It's not out of line.
Your complaint is that he isn't pushing YOUR top issues. If you look at the lists, they're a balanced representation of the community. I could care less about furniture. You are the same. That doesn't mean it isn't a good idea, or a valid concern from many members of the community.
Our profession IS NOT horribly broken. There are bugs & issues like every other profession. We at least have things worth making, that people want. Look at Droid Engineers. There's really no point to reposting the same bugs over & over on the top 5. Hell, they didn't even LOOK at the first week's list until a few days ago. They haven't even read, or responded to the following weeks' lists. If they were reading our top 5, and then IGNORING a bug, then I'd be fine with reposting.
As for being an uptight prude, YOU were the one implying our correspondent is a newbie architect simply because he DARED to include a community concern that you felt was irrelevant. There's a good reason Zarcath is the correspondent and you aren't.

no, my complaint is we arent getting bugs fixed. and the top 5 lists are the reason why.
other reps got the idea, keep telling that the bugs are more important than wish list items and the devs will figure out that there are bugs in our profession that needs fixing.
I question anybody who will put fluff up each week over bugs.

Ok, it seems some of you need to read that Dev response post again.
Go ahead... do it now... I'll wait.
...
...
Ok, hopefully you went and read it again. Did you notice anything in there? Yeah, it's pretty much a cut and paste of week 1's top 5.
Those issues have now been commented on, and are in the process of being repaired. In short, THE DEVS KNOW ABOUT IT NOW.
It would be kinda pointless now to ask them next month to comment on the same 5 issues again, wouldn't it? Instead, we will get 5 brand new issues addressed.

Putting up bugs constantly only helps if devs are reading our list, and discounting the bug.
When I look at the dev response post, where they acknowledge the harvesting mechanism buy & say they'll look into it, I see that the first time worked. Posting again won't do anything. If they read the list, saw the bug, and then posted, "Harvesting mechanism is working as intended" then reposting would be a good thing. (tm)
They haven't even read or acknowledged the following weeks' top 5 lists.

um the devs knew about alot of this in BETA. IS IT FIXED? NO.
not to mention that the report specifically stated that the HARVESTER MECHANISM COULDNT BE LOADED, and q replied back with... sounds like a bug, which schematic wouldnt load?
come on now...
