Thread: Why is the fact that experimentation does absolutely NOTHING not on any of the lists?
Did I miss something here? Is this not important to anyone else? That was my number one pet peeeve with the whole profession, and it's not even in the top 20?? I mean, a lot of those things mentioned are important, but isn't this a little more important than say, a user friendly furniture placement tool? I didn't say anything in the past because I thought it was in the first group of request. Needless to say I was quite upset when I didn't see it in any of Q's responses!
Don't you guys think this is important? I know I've read other people mention the same thing, I just always thought it was a know problem, and was on the list. Ughh, I'm very disappointed.
We have this ability to improve our wares, just like every other crafting profession, but it doesn't do anything. Not one thing! It makes perfect sense to be able to improve the structures to require less maintenance, or improve harvesting rates. Am I the only one that thinks this is important?
This would help so much with pricing as well, as buyers may be willing to actually pay 15K for a small house that'll save them cash in the long run through lower maintenance.
See, that's exactly what I'm talking about.I've always thoughtthat the likelyhood of a critical failure is based off the quality of your crafting tool, not the experimentation of the product itself. You may be right, but there's no way to know for sure unless a DEV posted on it, and there's no way that's going to happen unless Zarcath adds it to the list. This is my point.
Because people relized experimentation does nothing and nobady has it except masters. And they don't really care, they just got it becuase they had to. So basically there is no one to complain.
However it is an important issue. Experimentation is key to the effectiveness of all other crafted items, but does nothing in structures.
But, um, lets not do anything about it ever because I have no skill points left for construction....![]()
If you can show me some proof that experimetation helps i would love to see it..I have built around 25 PA halls and never failed..I know others that have made 10 and failed 2..you may be on a lucky streak and thats it..
How many houses are you building per day?
How many parts are you failing prior to the main build?
Are you building multiple structures in one sitting or just one?
Sorry if i seem a bit harsh but just saying it works with no data on it doesnt give us anything to go..And i know people who use this methaod and they do fail so if you say you fail nothing at all i would not tend to believe that,,
Well, we don't know if it does absolutely nothing.
Take the crafting stations for example.
I make a plain one, no options. I use my best material and experiment it up 95% and its functionality goes from -6 to 13.7999
I build another, this time with options and experment each option componant 60%. Throw it all together using the best material again and experiment it up 95%. It goes from -6 to 13.7999 functionality again.
However, my partner goes out and buys one with full options and it is at 35 functionality. How did that crafter make it 35 functionality when with 95% increas in expermental effiency I can only get it to 13?
My material is high 900's for the experimental attributes for the crafting station itself, but I can only do 60% on the sub componants. I contacted the crafter on how he did it, they claim you need 95% or better sub componants too.
So to me it looks like you have to max all sub compants to increase the final attributes of the product. I suspect once we see somebody do this with a fuel harvester we might see something happen.
I have made fusion generators at 75% increased expermental efficiency and ran them up against zero. All I see is a something like 10.2 for one and 10.39 for the otherin kg/h. And this can be attributed to just different location ... both at 75%
you have a good point.... please look at this post:
