Thread: Which Architect Type are you?

As I see it, we have a few types of architects that have been here from the beginning of the game.

TypeOne was the guild supported architect. These did not have to pay for their harv upkeeps and had 50 lots available. They could sell for whatever they felt like while they skilled up. They would sell a large house for a shuttle ride.

Type Two was the new and struggling architect. These architects were thrust into one of the hardest professions with the most resource requirements of anything in the game to sell anything. Every time they tried to sell anything, people would tell them that the guild architects sold for pennies on their prices. They did not stand firm and buckled under the pressure and now have to sell low because they always have. Type Twos are now serious architects, but were abused economically and sell whenever they can make a sale for whatever they can.

Type Threes are almost the same as Type Twos, exceptthey may have a couple friends who letthem use their lots, orthey played beta and it let them know what to do right out of the gate. Type Threes have a small advantage over Type Twos in usually only one way. This could just be a solid support group that is not a large PA. Type Threes usually are in the architect profession for the long run, and dedicate all of their skill points to crafting or in support of it.

Type Ones have moved on, mostly. They have dropped the profession to move on to combat. Type Twos have moved into a denial phase about other architects saying they are charging too low. They feel they are being yelled at because they are stealing sales from other, fair pricing architects. Type Twos have moved to now fill the void from Type Ones, but do not realize that the reason they became Type Twos in the first place have mostly left the profession. Type Threes arenow masterarchitects who are now in a more or lessstable position to either torefuse to sell for a price, or just sell resources.

So which are you? Feel free to create your own faction and explain why.

I'm a completely solo 4/0/2/3 architect with about half a million credits, no exploits.

I guess you could consider me, a type 1.3 hehe

I belong to a guild, who are my friends that allowed me to use their lots, they gave me money to get to where I am now, a Master Architect, but I also gave back to them. And yes...like my signature says....Ive moved on

thanks much

Probably Type 3.

Play this with my brother.

Have 5 account between two of us.

He like to combat

I like to craft.

He make money,

I make stimps and food for his pets

Everything I make is for my personal use. If I were to sell, I would NEVER charge less than 3 credit per resource used.

Once I make 15 of every type of heavy harvesters and 5 of each factories and houses, I am going to try something else.

I for one can NEVER understand how you guys can do this for fun.

Simply amazing.

No guild, 4 lots barrowed(so I can have a house & structure factory and still have 10 harvesters). Pretty successful.

Completely Type 2. I use all my own lots, get my own resources, and sell for the most I am able to sell for. Not quite Master yet but thats because I'm too lazy to take the thousands of resources I've stock piled and turn them into houses. As long as I'm in my manufacturing mode I can usually make enough money to keep things going, without any more long vacations to suck up my funds while not playing, I should be able to make plenty of money.

I guess I'm probably a three. I have more than one account so that I have access to additional lots (no that's not the reason for more than one account ). I started on a new server after learning the basics of the game on my old one. I'm not yet a master though I do refuse to sell for low prices on principle

not sure if I fit those... I'm independent but i borrow 4 lots from a friend like Nol does so I have 10 harvesters working for me and can keep a house for a furniture vendor and a structure factory.

I was very lost at first and sold things for less than i realized i could get. as I learned (fairly quickly) that i didn't have to sell low to sell I stopped selling for those prices. I now charge a MINIMUM or 4cr/resource used on everything. anything that uses a factory that price goes up. to be honest I generally charge more in the 5-6 cr/resource range for most items i make unless they are a close friend.

When someone tells me they can get it for less, I simply say sure, go ahead and get it there then. about half of the people end up coming back to me as more often than not I can deliver by the next day if not sooner. I don't take more orders than I can support finishing in more than 2 days so I'm always able to provide faster turnaround and I get a lot of referrals for that business.

my sell prices are almost completely dependent on the amount of ore the item needs + the amount of skill required. most lowbie furniture i sell about 2cpu, small harvs about the same. medium+large harvs, any house, high lv furniture will depend on the going rate of ore and the ease to get it. that seems to work out well. i do have a few friend to lend me lots but i only use a lot or 2 from each of them so they can have a medium or large house/factories of their own if they want to. i'm not rich but i'm quite self-sufficient, occasionally running a few missions to make back the money i used to buy resources when i'm low.

my only gripe is that they consistently keep ore at such low rates on most planets it's hard to make more than 1 large harv per day. last few days, i've yet to see anyplace on Naboo, Tatooine, Rori that has more than 55% ore. (Flurry server) they really need to balance the ore supply so we as architects can at least do more than 30 minutes of work per day.

I'm type 4. Self supported, with 2 accounts, & using hiring another 10 lots off other people.

I never charged less than 4.5 cred/res levelling up, and now charge 6.5 cred/res. I'm one of the oldest masters on Bria still in Architecture, and have over 8 mil banked.

When a point comes where I can no longer get over 5 cred/res, I'll be stockpiling 1-2 million resources, & pulling my harvesters.

I dont know what type I am. I used to sell for 5-6cpu and couldnt keep up with demand.
Now a couple other masters around me are selling for 1-2 cpu I have lost all sales and
they cant keep up with demand. I sell something every once in a while for 4cpu because
they can have what they want right then. but they bitch and begrudge the whole way.

I have 2 accounts and use all 20 lots. 10 for ore alone. Ive got a pretty good stockpile going
for when(if) they come out with player cities. For now I am playing my other character as
a fighter and having lots of fun while I watch the 1-2cpu people pull their hair out from stress.
Its rather amusing

Type Four -I have a small group of friends that I craft for. If they supply the resources I craft for free for them. If I supply the resources then they pay me cost for my work. I also do commissions for others on occasion where they supply the resouses I supply the skill and they pay me for my skill, and take the risk of the critical failure. I also craft for the general public with what I think is a fair markup, usually in the range of 5 credits per unit. I am FAR from rich but I do seem to breakeven with this and have managed to make it to 4/0/4/3 in a reasonably short amount of time since I am also training as a Pistoleer. I refuse to give up the fighting part of the game completely. The game is about having fun and that is what I try to do.

Peace,

Ripper

I suppose I am type 2. I started on Tempest 2 days ago (3 full days of grinding). I am at 0010 arch and 4402 artisan with a few scout and marksman skills. I haven't made any money yet. I price everything to sell quickly just so I can get some cash flow and not retain any inventory. I've been supplementing my income with survey missions that were paying 900 each and once I hit marksman pistol 4 started paying 1800 each. My personal harvesters can't keep up with my demand for resource so I buy every mineral on the bazaar thats less than or equal to 4 credits per unit. I keep 25 personal harvesters on the bazzar for 500-650 creds each and today I made 5 small houses which I sold for 8k each.

I am fully solo with absolutely no help on on Tempest server. Since Tempest is one of the newer servers there is still very much a demand for housing (although people scoff at 10k for a small house). Also, I rarely see medium harvesters and have never seen a heavy on Tempest.

I am grinding away with medium and heavy harvesters as the light at the end of the tunnel. I am hoping I can make some change with harvesters and then go weaponsmith. So I only plan on going 0040 arch then master weaponsmith... We'll see if it works. It's pretty fun.
