If you take a glance over on the merchant board you will see that the devs are seriously considering massively increasing the maintenance fees on NPC vendors. The cost will be based on a percentage of the value of each item listed per a period of time. With the cost of our structures being as high as they have to be the vendor fees could easily reach 20+k per day for a well stocked store. They are taking input prior to applying the 'nerf bat' once again so please drop by and voice your opinions before us architects get whacked by their bat again

Right now the NPC bendors are BUGGED, they charge 1 credit an hour, 24 credits a day

A robot/bulky vendor already charges maintenance based on total cost of items on vendor.

All they are doing is fixing a bug, yes it will mean more maintenance, that is why they are asking ppl's opinions. IMHO charging for total cost of items on vendor is stupid. I like to have a fully stocked vendor for my customers. They should have a very very very small maintenance fee and then have the vendor charge a sales tax when an item is sold. This is what most ppl are wanting and allows merchants to be merchants instead of working there ass off to pay maintenance fees a day.

Yes the NPC vendors are bugged but it is the only benefit you get from being a merchant since all the other benefits go poof after an hour (barking, galactic entry, vendor clothing) A fully stocked vendor is what I keep up also and a per time maintenance fee would totally ruin any profit I may get. Heck I am lucky to make 20k a day after harvester maint and such and a more normal day would be closer tobreaking even. A sales tax is the best of the bad options but any tax is a bad idea. If they had all the other problems fixed it might not be a bad idea to look into fixing the economy
