Thread: My Fusion Ion Generator...

...now has a spec rate of 19 and a hopper size of 408K. I planted it and the spec rate is indeed 19. Is this the new norm or was the architect who built this really good? It was my understanding that the hopper size change was not going to go live and that there was no way to change the spec rate on a harvester. Browsing through this board, there seems to be a lot of confusion. Anyone have anything definitive?

I experimented on a medium mineral last night and got the spec rate up to 7, the same as a pre-patch heavy by experimenting on the efficiency of the light ore mining unit. I made a schematic of high-eff. ore mining units for the heavies, and got much higher spec rates on those too.

The same probably goes for the F-I gens, the architech that you bought it from probably used good quatlity resources on the Manufacturing Mech. and got the effiency up.

I wonder if this spec rate experimentation is going to be permanent. One would think it should be.

I hope they don't rollback to the way it was, I rather have the ability to increase it with good experimentation even though it means giving up all my current harvs.

I had a fusion gen made for a customer before the patch and I put it on my vendor today when I was finally able to log back in. It's showing an extraction rate of 22 and a hopper of 418k. He's pretty excited about that, but I still have no idea if these changes were intended or will be removed later. I think it's great and I hope they keep it the way it is now!

This is exciting, but if it does become permanent, I'll have to replace all my other harvesters (6 heavy mineral, 1 deep crust, 1 heavy gas, 9 medium mineral, 3 solars, 2 medium chems, and 1 medium gas). I would gladly do it though to get a 12 spec rate heavy harvester.
