Thread: Candles and Lamps last forever

I'm noticing candles and lamps are not going away when their time runs out. I'm not complaining. I thought it was a joke to consider candle-making renewable income for an architect. Replacing candles and lamps in a house every 2 weeks is just a nuisance, not really much income.

But I ask since I haven't read anything about this. I haven't picked any up after the time runs out. I don't really want to mess with a good thing.

Anyone got the scoop?

If the time runs out and you leave them where they are then they continue to give off light. But if you pick them up then they turn off.

I don't imagine it is intended for the timer to run down to zero and for them to continue to give off light. I assume that is a bug.

not a big supprise nothing in this game works right. Just watch out because they will ban you if you take advantage of the the stuff that the crummy programmers should never have let get to a live version of the game. Kind of lame that they don't seem to carewhen somthing isscrewed upuntell someoneelse notices and gets banneddue tothe programmers mistakes.

A way to replace them without having to pull up destroy and place the others in the exact same spot would be nice.

I don't think they should burn out in the first place, it's a goofy "renewable income." Ask the DEs if they get a lot of droid paint requests (hint: the answer is "No"). I do think a proper source of renewable income is needed, especially with the winding down of hologrinders.

My alt is a master architect, so don't think I'm just trolling in here =)

I like this "bug".

If you move it you buy it again, if you dont yer ok. I keep replacing mine 'cause i keep moving stuph around the house.

It is definatly not a "renewable" income.

Like a droid battery... except a "lamp" battery? Now that would be cool.

Cool? Well, I would call it overdone and a complete waste of time...

This is probably a bug - but given a 'reasonable' replacement time would be about 3 months - not every month - it's a bug I can certainly live with.

And yeah, redecorate - you need new ones - sounds most reasonable to me.

Honestly, I've had better sales on them once people realized that if they left them alone they wouldn't have to replace them. The initial response from many people was the same as the vehicle/droid colorization. "Why bother if I'm just going to have to do it again before long?" There are many people who are more casual gamers where a RLweek may only mean a day or two of play time. It's hardly worth it for people like that to buy something that's going to be gone the next time they log in unless it's a special occassion.

Bug or not, I'm happy with the way it is now. If you move it, you have to replace it, but if you've got everything set up you don't have to redo it unless you want to.

Aggreed. I just had a bunch of candles come off my vendor. Not a great selling item. They seem pointless to use to me and I can make them easy enough myself. At least this way it won't be a hassle unless you are redecorating.
