Thread: Frustrated about Sturcture Factory.
I can't for the life of me build wall modules in my factory. I read the earlier post abotu factories not taking items from cratres.
I made several structural modules without trouble and have broken them down into individual units all with the same serial number. I still get the message factory finished 0 items made.
I'm sure this has been addressed, however I can't find the answer. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

I have over 100 stuctural mods in the ingredients hopper as well as all other material needed. All modules have been broken down into singles and yet it still wont create.

how can you have over 100 mods plus the ore and steel when the input hoppers cap. is only 100?
Otherwise i'm thinking, even though the mods have all the same serial, does the mods serial match up with the schematic's required serial for that component?
I mis-spoke. I meant to say i had over 100 mods 10 of which had been broken down into individual units.

I have been told ( but have never tried it so I dont know ) That if you seperate your structural modules into 10 crates and pull one module from each crate to make theschematic that it will pull from the 10 crates to make the walls in a factory.
Dont quote me, I have not tried this myself yet.
It's worth a shot. I'll try anything at this point. Frustrating as hell.

Had THAT same problem when first learning about schematics on feed-chem.
Note to self:
Make sure you have enough components of the SAME EXACT TYPE and SAME EXACT SERIAL (if applicable). Use these to make your schematic, yes these, only these.

I tried the 10 crate thing, didn't work for me.
What I do is mix my structure modules so the schematic doesn't require a serial # on the structure mods. Then make sure you have the right ore and right metal in there. That often messes people up. Then load things up, brick by brick. You can have the input hopper open when you start it up, and just load them in as it uses them up. Takes about 3 minutes per wall. I just made some 140-150 walls getting ready for player cities. It is a nightmare, but with experimentation failing more than it suceeds, it is best to just factory them.
what do you mean individual units ? you need to decrate every single brick in order to make them. It really doesn't matter what kind of structural modules you use to make them with there is no serial number in the schematic and as such you can use ay modules you want.
I saw a while back that some guy said he could get them to pull modules from crates by making 100 structural modules and breaking them into boxes of 10 then pulling one brick from each crate of 10 to make the schematic then using those precise 10 crates of now 9 bricks in the factory but that is so unefficient it's sick ... you end up making a schematic for every 9 walls.
I made 400 walls yesterday and it was a pain in the rump. I seriously wish they would fix the brick decrating issue and fix it soon. It would be so much easier to justy put some crates in and walk away. As it stands now though the easiest way to make them is to put your 2k ore and 3k metal into the hopper start decrating modules and place them into the hopper. I usually start the factory when I have about 50-60 modules loaded in so that by the time I get to the last 2 there is enough room in the hopper for them.
why do that? if you really want to make crates of walls, u just gotta find a day when you have nothing to do, sit there with your crates of structure modules in your inven, make a wall schematic for 1k walls, start pumping individual SMs into the hopper with your metal+ore, keep the input hopper open while u start the factory process, then feed more SMs into the input hopper every half an hour or so. crates of walls will churn out, albeit slowas hell. in the mean time, u can just survey some random material on the spot at your structure factory. that's about the best way of doing this until a fix comes along. i've been doing this for a long time, even sometimes have other admin's of the structure fac do this for me if i'm away.
and i was still running out of walls even when i had a few aspiring MArchs help me grind out walls. now i'm sitting around with about 100-200 walls in storage at all times in case the player city patch hits while i was out watching Matrix 3(again) or working or something =)
