Thread: harvestors 10 or 17?
G'day
I've been hearing conflicting information both in and out of game. I want to buy some heavy mineral harvestors, so I asked what the best base extraction rate was. Some people are saying 10, others say up to 17 has been made - and I recall seeing an auction for a 17 earlier too, but i've never seen one in-gamemyself. I placed an order for a 16 with a smith who then said "That's odd, same comps, but this one came to 10 instead of 16".
Were you at one point able to make 10+'s? Or are some people just on crack? Or can you still? What's up?
As far as I've heard, 11 is the highest anyone has achieved. I make 10's using components I experimented up before the patch, and they were pretty good bits. Supposedly radioctive energy miners can hit much higher (in the 20 range) but I can't verify that.
After the cities patch they are changing the components that heavy miners use, so we'll ave to wait and see what happens. also if we get more experimentation points like we're supposed to that will have an effect.
Pylon,
As an Achitect, i can tell you about the state of the harvesters. Here is what we know:
Mediums of all kinds can be experimented to 7 (8 with a skill tape)
Heavies of all kinds can be experimented to 10 (11 with skill tape)
Fusions can be experimented to 16 (17 with skill tape)
The fusions you may see with higher extract rates (22+ kg/hr!) are a result of one of the patches, any fusion in deed form in your inventory was converted to this odd high-value extract rate and an ungodly amount of hopper (I have heard of 400K+) at the time of the patch.
What is a skill tape you ask? From what I understand, it is a high-level loot drop that gives bonuses to skills, so a +25% (really, really rare) skill tape of architect experimentation would give you that added boost to get your extractors to the higher extract rate.
This will all change when the new experimentation numbers come out in the next couple of days. Architects are supposed to get our full 100% experimentation and assembly. They are also going to change the effectiveness so it will be harder to get better numbers on extractors.
Here's to hoping they don't break anything!
