Thread: Heavy Harv/Factory Run Question
Since walls and such are new in factories, can I get a confirmation on this? It sounds like there are two unique scenarios here:
1) I make 100 structural modules by hand (all unique SNs), pop 90 of them into a factory and use the last 10 to make a wall schematic. I can then get 9 walls? (ignoring additional raw materials).
2) I do (1) 10 times, take those 90 walls (so now 10 different SNs on my walls), make one more by hand (an 11th),and pop 84 of them into the factory along with some crates of other very high quality stuff, make a schematic for a 13 BER Heavy Mineral Mining Installation and hit 'run' and get another 12 of them?
The only reason I'm being to meticulous with my examples is that, as you said, no other factory manufacturing works like this... if I use 10 structural modules SN abcDEF to make my schematic, I would normally expect to need 10 structural modules SN abcDEF to make every single instance the factory pops out. So I'd love to hear some confirmation on this one

Procedure (not necesssarily how you *should* do it, but what I ended up doing over a week period):
- load in ore and metal and schematic for structure modules - produce crates of SM-A
- load in different ore, metal, and schematic for structure modules - produce crates of SM-B
- make a schematic for wall modules (WM-1) using ore, metal, and SM-A
- load that stuff into the factory input hopper and produce crates of WM-1 (using both SM-A and SM-B)
- do it again making WM-2
- make a schematic for the harvester using wall modules (any of them)
- load the harvester schematic, specific resources needed for the schematic, and arbitrary mix of wall modules into the factory and let it rip
