Hey, I am sure that in the thousands of posts already here in the forums this idea may have been explored already, so I apologize for any dead horse that I may splatter on you.

As an architect, and witnessing the economy slow down rapidly for the architectual profession specifically, I am exploring the idea of permanent decay in structures. This includes harvesters, factories, houses, etc. If something like this is not implemented, then the Architecture profession becomes obsolete quickly.

Everyone becoming an Architect builds these structures in the grind for advancement and usually sells them for dirt cheap. Just about everyone and their brother (or sister) has all the harvesters that they need. Of course there will always be some sales. The housing markethas dried up. Factories are still selling, but eventually the market will be glutted with those too. Since harvesters, houses, and factories are re-deedable, they just keep piling up in the market. The laws of supply and demand make it obvious that these structures will soon lose 90% of their value. They are already being sold near cost. This removes most of the relevance of the Architect profession.

1.A structure that is around indefinitely will crash the Architecture profession. I think that structures should suffer permanent decay, just as in real life, and that the rate of decay should be accelerated in game-time. If this means reducing maint. costs, or requiring a kit crafted by architects to maintain, then so be it. But something should happen.

2. I think that structures should have a limited number of re-deeds. When the resource shifts are functioning as they should be, then I think a structure should only be re-deedable a finite number of times.

These are just some ideas to ensure that the Architecture profession remains a valid skill set in the game - to ensure that there will always be agreat enough demand for structuresto support the Architect profession.

I also think that a number of additional schematics would be fun.

Thanks for reading.
