Thread: What's the fastest way to become architect?
I'm not sure if my path to Architect was the fastest one, but I was already a Tailor and a Master Artisan when I chose to become an Architect. So, I accumulated a lot of materials, and a did practice crafts of Travel Packs until I had enough experience to learn Novice Architect. Meanwhile, I had all of my harvesters acquiring ore and metal. I got as much of that as I could, and began selling small houses as soon as I could. Also, I got any friends of mine to supply me with the required materials to make whatever they wanted, including houses, factories, etc.
The first skill I learned was Buildings I, because even though I wanted to make Installations, that skill contains the schematic for something required for installations (I forget which item it was, but the dev's should move it to Novice Architect). After that I proceeded all the way up Installations IV, and then built myself a Structure Factory so that I could make myself a couple heavy harvesters, and also have a premium item to sell. I never grinded a single item, everything was customer orders or things for myself, and I became Master Architect in two weeks. The experience comes real fast, the key is acquiring enough ore, and to a lesser extent, steel and other metals.
Are you talking about general crafting experience? Personal deeds and camps, if you're a scout and money doesn't matter, produce reasonable exp for the amount of clicking. Muzzles were the old stand by when I was learning, if minimizing cost was important.
After you make novice architect, there is no need to grind unless you've got a PA backing you who wants the PA hall. You can get experience just by making sales. Make furniture if you need cash. Make structural modules and walls to grind - good exp, and you will eventually use them all and some. Train the harvester branch, which not only helps you get more resources efficiently, but also provide good sales.
Not 100% clear whether you're referring to the first rung of the architect tree or master architect. Ifyou're aiming for thelatter, I personallyrecommend focusing on the installations tree and furniture. Installations will get you to the larger harvesters asap - kind of essential, unless you can afford to buy them, because you'll need massive supplies of resources asap.
I did the furniture line at the same time, purely because it sells well if you price competitively. By selling your excess resources and furniture on the bazaar, hopefully you can create a steady stream of income to pay for the materials you can't mine yourself, and also training.
Power sells well, too, and solar generators are a massive improvement on wind, so try to get a few of those down as soon as possible.
Homes and factories are harder to shift and you'll probablyface a lot of competition from competitors slashing prices, so I'd avoid those till later on.
Finally, if your just starting out, losing a factory or larger home to a critical can be financially devestating - so furniture sales (which also sell for a lot more per resource used) proved a far safer option. ![]()
Good luck!
Skarra, Master Architect
Well, if you have a bottomless bank account, a fleet of heavy harvesters and people queueing at your door, you can take the 'fastest' option.
Or, if you're just starting out, you can take the realistic long-term option. Your choice. ![]()
The fastest way? Get a PA behind you with tons of resources at your disposal. Work your way up the furniture line first with small housing tossed in so as to reduce your crit rate. +Assembly does seem to help a lot more than so called improved crafting stations. The better stations seem to help with better success rate in experimentation but not reducing crit fails.
