It is very easy to find out, if you survey for it you will find that you need your 'Chemical Survey Device' to find it, so you need a Chemical Harvester to harvest it.
This applies to all resources, Gas is surveyed with a Gas Survey Device and needs a Gas Harvester, and so on. The only exception is radioactive power, which is surveyed on a Mineral Survey device, although this can be harvested by a Mineral Harvester, it is more effeciently harvested by a Fusion Generator.
