Thread: Just a rant

I was hanging out in Anchorhead with a buddy talking to him while he sliced peoples things. While I was there I pulled out a couple, ermm..what are they called..those ugly bird/bat things that look like dragons from Endor. The thing that smoked a cigar and sold junk parts in Tatooine in the movie..anyway. Being a MASTER CH I was able to pull out 2 of these bad boys(level 34 I think) and then some guy (won't mention name) says to me "put the bats away". There are like 100 people running around there with every kind of animal in the game. Yeah, I took offense, especially since he had his monkey out(get yer mind out of the gutter), but opted to say nothing besides.."umm..no". Right before this someone else made some wise crack about having my Rancor out, ok I understand that causes some lag issues for people so I tucked him away.

The point I want to make is this: NO one has the right to tell anyone what they can or cannot have running around with them. As a rule I will never pull a creature out in a building( makes it hard to see or target people)and normally I won't pull them out in a town unless I am healing them. However, the bottom line is this, it's part of the game and if you don't like it..then leave or log...but if your a creature handler yourself, shame on you. Next time I will just put these people on ignore and save myself the aggrevation. Furthermore, if having a pet out is lagging your system ( I can't imagine what a battle does to these people) then maybe it's time to upgrade your computer ( recommendations are printed on the box). I will be as considerate as possible but do not start a coversation with me by telling me what I need to do, like put my pets away. I wish they had servers with age limitations on them, I would pay extra.

I agree. I've not had anyone lame enough to say that to me yet but have heard of similar incidents before. I totally agree about the priviledged servers. I'd pay extra too. They have 'em for EQ it's just a matter of time before we do too.

lol.. no need to do that. buffing can be enjoyable if you meet the right musician.

There is a thread stickied in the Musician forum: How to find an entertainer to inspire you

SOme of those tips might help.

I've also had difficulty sometimes finding musicians sometimes especially on my less populated server at off hours.

I found tipping the large amounts of money works to get their attentions. I started out tipping 100k for arch buffs since heck I make a ton more in return and next few times I went for buffs they were looking for me!

If you live in a big city, especially a research center, think about a gift of a cantina and a weekly retainer. The retainercould be a city budget item.
