hello all i have been a master architect for a little over a year now and now that jtl has come out i am at a crossroad.
i love architect and everything with it but i would like to go SW as it was a fun profession for me to play with during the beta.
so here is my question should i keep architect and be a arch/sw or drop arch and be a sw/merchant
right now i am master arch master merchant master artisan with 2 2 3 4 in poliction.
i was thinking of dropping most of artisan (but i really need to keep the survey line)
ugh i have no clue what to do its so hard leaving a profession that i have been for so long and have loved.
well i am going to be unlocking my second slot soon and maybe i could make a new arch with him but i am looking on advice for what to do.
what would u guys do?
(note we really need more sp hehe)

I can't tell you what YOU should do. I'll tell you what I'm doing so you can see if it makes any sense to you.
I had a Master Architect / Master Artisan / 3044 merchant and was happy.
Then I dropped medic, scout, marksman and picked up Master Droid Engineer. I enjoyed DE but decided that doing a general architect AND a general DE business was too crazy for me. I never ramped up the DE business.
Then I walked away from all of it for a few months to play on the Test Center and then to do JTL beta - I was just burned out on running a business. However, that time on the TC and in JTL re-convinced me that I love crafting and I really like doing "architect" stuff.
For me, another factor was that I have a Master Ranger on Chilastra, and that all of my Amazon Basin friends (including my wife) play on Chilastra.
So, I finally broke down and bought a second account (just yesterday). I'll be dropping all merchant and probably the Domestic Arts line, gringing out Shipwright on Wanderhome with my resources and credits, and then transferring to my second account and over to Chilastra.
So I will have: Master Architect, Master DE, Master SW and very little else. My wife and guildmates will put my stuff on vendors for me. I'll play my Ranger when I feel like getting out in the bush. And I'll be very selective on what types of Arch / DE / SW products I focus on - I won't have a "full service" business for any of them.
I know what you mean - I was trying to figure out how to get shipwright without dropping architect - so I finally hatched this scheme.

This is thelist of professions you're considering:
Shipwright
Architect
Merchant
Artisan
Politician
Now decide what among these you like to do most and which you like to do least. You might want to list the pros and the cons for each profession to help you decide that.
Put them in priority order. Then just drop skills for the profession(s) that are at the bottom of that list.
Now you might say "well I don't like that profession but I have to have it" or something. You don't have to have any profession. If you don't like doing it or if you'd really have a lot of fun doing something elsethen drop it. You can find someone else to handle that task or at least make due with fewer skills in it.

You can actually master Arch, SW, Merch, and have Suveying IV, and have 4 sp left.
Now that should have a pretty income...
