Did they? Guess I'll be able to tell in a day or two, once again this latest patch has screwed up and I cannot get into game. Same as last time, except the fix they gave me last time round doesn't work this time. It's not even as if I have an unusual PC set up, I run a Dell Dimension with Nvidia FX5200, now they know the issues with NVidia cards, so why can't they just test the damned patches with this kind of setup, it isn't exotic for gods sakes.

What was the fix they gave you for last time?
I would assume that they test their patches with some systems but if you try to cover every combination of video card, processor, chipset, memory, etc then the list grows gigantic really quick.

I have run the fix three times now, on the third occasion it worked, but I tried something a little different, so maybe that is why.
I had been getting stuck after the first 2 ads, the 3rd ad was not showing, just a blank screen and a totally locked PC.
Fix was to delete the SwgClient_r.exe file and all 7 of the .dll files, start launchpad, do a full scan and play. The first 2 times it didn't work, the third time I chose my character select before hitting 'play' and BINGO ! So if anybody else encounters the same problem they should try this
I think it is quite common as the online techies gave me the list in seconds first time around, so must have had it macroed in, which makes me wonder why they didn't throw it into the patch anyways.

That fix sounds like it is deleting and replacing the client application files. That is something they'd do if the files were thought to be corrupted in some way. If so then that is not something they would want to do in a patch.
I assume the full scan then forces the system to download new copies of the files in question with the hope that a clean / new copy of the file will fix it. I don't think it changes anything in the files but just gives you new copies of the files you are already supposed to have.

Well if they have fixed this then one can only wonder why it wasn't working in the first place?... and why did it take so long to fix?...

I just resubmitted it as a bug (along with a few other things) not too long ago. Perhaps they forgot it was broken and needed to be reminded it needed fixing?

i think it was a lag issue..... mounts really lagged the game down... now the servers are being updated with new hardware they can start to turn on some of the fun but unnecessary things
How does harvestor animations have anything to do with lag? Or with server hardware esspecially? It's just an animation that runs. Only a few harvestors need to know where the sun is positioned to animate, but the client already has that information anyways. It's not like harvestors are running server commands to figure out how to go up and down. That's what the client is for.
