Thread: All professions winding down
The game is slowly choking itself to death. They need some major changes quick..
Im going to stop crafting now. No profit.
I feel sorry for the Archies trying to get to master.. The train to nowhere..........
We'd had a boom. Thousands of players that wanted houses, harvesters, PA halls, guns, armor, all in the space of 1 month.
Enough buildings weapons & armor to supply the entire server. Sounds like a pretty big order, right?
To pull that off, each server needed a huge number of Arch's, WS's, AS's. Well guess what, that demand doesn't last forever. Time for some people to move on.
Of course the first people made the most money, that just is how it happens.
But most professions are far from winding down.
Weaponsmith = Has been doing awesome and continues to do awesome
Armorsmith = Doing well and may even get a boost in the future.
Medics = Doing well and will continue to do well
Droid Engineers = Doing poorly and hopefully will do better in the future
Chef = Doing poorly but has a high future
Smugglers = Doing very well and has a bright future
Architects = Doing OK with a very poor future without decay of some sort. Deman is lowering already.
Urban Planner = Unless decay happens they have a very short life span, but should profitable for a short time
BioEngineers = Pretty broken from what I hear and just an ok future at this time
I am sure that I missed a few, but that is my thoughts on the professions.
What really is bad that armor and weapons need to be replaced by the shooter professions once or twice a week and the armor fails slowly also. Houses never fall ever.
Perhaps have SOE change the houses to be good for 100 days real time so we get a turnover on houses and harvesters.
Adune,
I agree that there will have to be less artisans. But the problem is do we really want the galaxy 90% fighters and 10% artisans? Heck 1-2 architects could probably take all new orders in 2 months if there are zero changes. I am already seeing guilds fold and selling their PA halls.
The game needs to decrease the amountof credits in the game, since every day the credits keeppouring in and very little is going out.
a. This can be done by increasing decay and money going out through harvesters. This allows for there to be a larger percentage of artisans.
b. Decrease the amount of credits coming in.
c. Put another huge money sink in the game. I hope they do this also in some form. Maybe vehicles will be a huge money sink.

16k missions on Lok dont help
In fact any mission over 5k is too much. I see fighters raking in a million in a few days no problem
i really dont agree with housing and other go inside buildings having a degradable feature. Maybe instead make certain things inside these structures break after so many days. Have the turbines need to be replaced every so often. I know I for one hate it being dark inside my house. Have a maintenance feature other than credits to go into the upkeep. I kinda like the idea of the repair kits for a house, one that degrades after a set amount of uses.
Factories and harvesters can fall under the same line as the homes, maybe instead of just the generator getting broken, which feeds the power, the structure bins might break, the walls get holes and so forth...
but then...we wont just need the urban planner anymore. We will need a repair man =)
AS on Bria is still a very much in demand profession. Weaponsmith however, is declining as well, and will continue to. We have maybe 10 master WS's, with many more on the way.
Because resoruce costs on most guns are so LOW that one master, running 8-15 factories could literally supply the demand for an entire server on the basic gun types. Ie: Laser Rifle, Scout Blaster, etc. They buy resources from suppliers, and simply concentrate on mass producing.
Factories will allow WS/AS to do the exact same thing as Arch. 1-2 mass producing will supply the demand for the server.
I dont really think it's choking itself, but I have found that the economy is stabalising. On Bria we have lots of master in all proffessions an more daily. People are getting bored? Well u should be grouping an just going an trying to have fun. I am having a blast. I sell furniture on gbay an keep only a few harvs goin. We really don need to rush to be master anything anymore as there are lots of grinders there already.
I know u say "yea but i cant compete with so and so weaponsmith master as he makes better" or similar stuff for all professions but really. How many people actually have much stock? Most sell out fast or they stockpile an then find someone lookin for 10 medium harvs. Happens to me every few days. Lots of ppl are becomming miners. Credit prices might drop an then it might be easier to buy minerals. I dont know. All I say is stop rushing. It's done and the people who did in the first month might be on a little less an thus sellin a little less so the economy is righting itself. I sell Small Houses for 15k an cause nobody makes em anymore an the market is flooded I keep em an stockpile em. I only keep a few. An i find they still move. Be patient. Have fun go see the pod race, sarlac pit. jedi temple. There is a story line. Cmon don get bored get even.
Let crafters craft and let us all try to have fun an see the world.
