Hi guys. I'm trying to build my first PA hall and I'm having so much trouble making the power core units in a factory crate. No matter what i try the darn factory makes zero items. I've even tried picking it up and placing it again (at a huge cost UGH) and nothing. It says it runs out of energy distributors even tho there are at least 5 of every subcomponent in the hopper. Please help,

We'll need to look into this, it sounds like a bug.

I was able to make them by making sure that EVERY component that needs more than one piece had been made in a factory crate.....seems that the power core unit needs to have the exact same serial number on each item (therefore crated) or it won't work. I'd been having the same issue until I used factory crate items to make mine.....a major pain.

This is a known bug and has not been addressed by the Devs. I've hit it myself. The way I got around it was the same way everyone else I know has:

Load your factory with material for more than 4 copies of the Power Core. Never load less than 5 worth of material when doing a Power Core. Then run the thing. You'll lose at least one, maybe two. I got 6 good ones the last time I ran with ingredients for 7.

And double-check your schematic. Every last sub-part must be from a factory crate, and the IDs must match the IDs on the Power Core schematic. But you knew that already.

Good luck. It can be done.

I heard as well that you must place the resources in the ingedients hopper in the same order that it lists them on the ingredients needed menu.

Thanks everyone. As I understand it now, all of the subcomponents must also be from factory crates and just to be safe I should load them in order into the hopper. I hope this works...fingers crossed.

When I built powercores last time I threw in 11 turbines and it ate one and built 10 power cores.

This has been pretty consistant with the eating of turbines for me. It hasnt eaten to much else (except for 1 time 4 power core building times ago when it ate 1/2 my stuff and I shut the computer off in disgust)

PATHETIC FIX IT NOW. This has been a bug for at least since the start of the game.

I've tried the "order" thing.. lost all the resources. I've blown through 3 days worth of metal trying to get the factory to produce more than 0 (1 if I'm lucky) before it screams about a component that is there that it can't see.

I'm willing to try "leave it in the crate". Hope that works.. but now I have to make all new schmatics from our recent resource shift.

Considering after all the frustration to get 2 PCs out of the factory, the Hall Critt'ed.. I'm a little Punchy.

The key to getting Power Cores is to utilize Crated components as the ingredients and not individually crafted items. I have gotten the factory to pull frommy crates 1 time, all other times I have to uncrate everything and put them in the factory. make sure you have enough parts and materials to make 1 more than the target number you want.

Well it worked! I now have a crate of factory produced power core units. I had to build an equipment factory to make two of the components so that all three had come from factory crates. I took the items out of the crates before i put them in the hopper. The factory did eat the ingredients for one power core unit but then created 19 more for me so I should be set for a little while. I don't think I'll ever build another PA hall for anything less than 700k tho. This is so stressful. When i did the final hall assembly I truly felt sick in fear of critical failure but it went well and I now have a deed for the generic PA hall I needed.

THanks for all your help guys
