Thread: Non-Architect giving thoughts on addl bldgs and bldg TEF...

Ok, guys, I'm not an Architect. I'm not even that big on crafting (it's of my lower 3 professions, I just don't have the time). I have been recently considering working on this more though, and if I do it, I'm going for Architect.

My ideas...

I see a lot here about decay and needing it. I couldn't agree more. On the Bria boards I suggested the same thing when someone noted some reasons why architects and other smiths are mismatched. An additional thought is adding the possibility of letting a House/ specific buildingshave a TEF when there are Overt factioneers inside, or possibly just on the Admin list. Guild Halls may even allow the option when placed for a faction (Reb, Imp, or Neutral and items allowed to be placed inside based on this, mostly from Urban-Developer I would guess), though not sure how well this one would work, since there would have to be something to keep factioneers from choosing Neutral. This would also help solve some of the PvP problems of the duck-and-cover move hiding in restricted access buildings. Additionally, the possible C&R tree for Architects could include repair kits for this type of damage (and the possible TEF Arch's might get loke the Doc's).

Additional Buildings I would like to see:

Turrets (specificallyand only if/when the above would be enacted)

Merchant Stores, Generic and Planetary (possibly even specific to the field: Weapon Stores, Armour Stores, Clothiers, Pharmacies, etc.) These should have a set footprint, but not necessarily a set 'look' or storefront (or even height). Maybe even display cases (under furniture) for specific types of items- it's be nice to hang weapons on walls anywhere.

Wherehouses (Large Buildings, no interior walls, lots of inventory space maybe with a radial menu from a terminal like a gigantic backpack), Generic only?

I apologize if any of this has been posted b4. Well, you guys are the experts, what do you think?

turrets would be kewl to add into structure building, but the turrets themselves could only be made by say... a droid engineer? that way architects would have to barter for the turrets componants to put on buildings and also make the structures worth more.

YOu could do it as an add-on or a stand alone, two different schematics. The add-on only for med sized bldgs or larger, increases the maint on the structure. The stand-alones could be programmed to 'guard' a certain building (targeted while putting in program). Some parts made by the DE, maybe even the (dare I say it?) weaponsmith. Droid brain and a couple of barrels? Then of coarse batteries by the Master Artisan.

I'd like to see turrets that can be placed seperate from buildings, but I agree that some inter-profession dependancy needs to be there. Perhaps an advance droid brain to control the turret's AI, and some weaponsmith components for the turret itself?
