Ok so I just dinged architect. I took all the little supplies I've been saving forever and started making a factory. Got a few criticals along the way (one on the part that uses the "Generator" as a subcomponet so I lost 2 things.

Well I get all the pices hit assemble and hold my breath......Critical - ARGGGGH!!!

So the question is.....As a new architect do I fail these final combines more than "more advanced architects". Before I spend a week gathering resorces for try #2 ..... Should I make the subcomponents and give to a Master (or at least someone better than novice) or is it just "the luck of the draw" and I have no more chance at failures than anyone else?

BTW the craft device I'm using was experimented on and has 85% effectiveness so I think I'm using a good tool (not sure if that makes a difference or not).

Any help would be appreciated.

First, standing by a Personal Structure and furniture crafting station with a positive Functionality Rating seem to help out to lessen Critical Failure rate.

Second, Look at the overall quality and the unit toughness of your matieral. It is "rumored" that it seem to lessen Critical failure, but personally as a cheap architect, I use whatever steel and ore that have the highest concentration

Your level has some to do with it because as you advance in the furniture tree you get extra bonuses to structure assembly which helps lesson criticals. However do not thing when you get to master that your criticals will dry up. In the past two days I have had criticals on one factory, one solar, and one deep crust chemical extractor. In each cases I used ingredients with a high over all quality but I still failed.
