Does this tree affect high end crafting/experimentation or does it just affect only the items Novice Artisans can craft? I've been leveling both the Engineering tree and the Domestic Arts tree and I'm just wondering if DA will affect my architect crafting in the future.

The only thing it will effect are the experimentation points that you will receive while making crafting stations and ballot boxes. In other words, no. However, there are a number of items in the architect tree that require components from a master artisan, so if you don't know any, you might want to take that on yourself.

All assembly and experimentation skills you earn in artisan only affect artisan items. Going up the domestic line helps make your artisan items much much better. You will make much better personal harvesters, but once you get to Architect you start from scratch.

If you don't want to sell the items you make in artisan, then you can skip the domestic line. Master Artisans do make a few components there are very nesessary for elite crafters.
