As a non architect I would love to see Architects to get some of these things
Merchant shops
New lines of buildings, takes one lot, is about the size of a small tat house, but has the lesser item space and is only one room and can never be private the more advanced the building the bigger the shop size as well as some frills (like fountains in the middle or other goodies)
Open air markets
A big tent stand where vendors can be placed in player cities.
New furniture
lots of it, mostly directed towards business' and public buildings
Container furniture.
Everyone wants you guys to get these.

Merchant Shops - devs said their "looking in to this" and would like to see it
New buildings - Will eventually come but compared to all the other bugs and fixes out there we wont see for a long time
Open Air Markets - maybe possible in player cities, but don't expect to decorate or anything because it would cause lag to draw all the extra stuff. I would doubt this one though.
New furniture - obviously will come eventually, who knows when
Container furniture - I would predict that people will be able to store stuff in them, but it would still cost the same towards the item count as if it was on the floor. Again, not a big deal compared to other problems

We do have container furniture, sort of.... a crafting station built with all optional components will give you a 100-item storage locker that you can access by clicking a corresponding crafting tool in your inventory and selecting Open Hopper. Still counts against the house limit, but is much tidier than tossing everything on the floor.
