Thread: 2 quick questions (power/furniture)
I just have two newb questions
1) I've been using wind power just because the harveters were cheap. I looked at swgarchitect and it lists both solar and fusion generators at the same mainteance rate (1440/day) and lot size (1) as a wind generator. Is this true? Are these the equivalent of a med/heavy generator (ie grab a lot more than a wind generator at the same price?)
2) One room in my house is just a complete mess of items and resources. I figured there was furniture that could act as a container but I bought a chest and an armoire and neither had any option on the radial to open up. Is there some such furniture? I don't believe everybody is just dumping all their stuff on the floor ![]()
There is no furniture that opens up to hold stuff, sadly. You can, however, drop a backpack in your house and open it from where it drops. I store most of my rare resources and factory crates in a backpack in my work room. They still take up the same total space in the house, but it keeps the room from looking so cluttered.
If you have a vendor, you can also store things in the vendors stockroom.
(I read this post and thought to myself, power furniture, now THERE is a real upgrade!)
I do believe that solar has a maint rate of 30, which would put it inline with wind... i'll have to actually pay attention to that when i pay my gens tonite.
In either case, a solar gen is well worth the money - They get 8kg/h compared to 2kg/h of power... i can drop a solar gen in a 45% concentration, and get about 4.5k/day in power. - Even if the maint is more, it more than pays for itself in surplus power.
As far as objects that can hold items... there are no furniture options.
However, as was said previously, you can use backpacks. You can also use cargo pockets, satchels and unlocked containers. My personal favorite was the unlocked container as they are large enough to easily click and not get lost in a mess of other items. However, ever since the large patch I have been receiving a "you do not have permission to access this container" whenever I attempt to use my unlocked containers. ![]()
The satchels, cargo pockets and backpacks work fine (but items inside still count towards total house item limit).
Please fix my unlocked containers!
All 3 harvesters have the same maintenance requirements per day.
Wind has 5 efficiency
Solar has 8
Fusion 13

Items in input and output hoppers do not autodelete. I have had items in mine for weeks. As most reciped require less than 5 items, its not diffucult to use these as a handy extra 200units of space each (if you leave the stuff you make with them in the output hopper).
