Thread: Is there a definitive price list

I'm a struggling Architect on Tarq. I have sold a fair amount of small houses and mostly furniture. I know that prices seem to vary among servers, but I was trying to find a definitive price list that would help me not get ripped off. I sold my first Food Factory for 12k. Based on talking with some other Archs, that was way low. I don't really have a clue what to charge for Med harvs, Large harvs, most furniture, factories. I was hoping that there was some type schedule I could go by.

Look at the resource costs for the structures, figure out what crit fails cost you, and work out a price/res selling point that makes it viable to make deeds. (Selling at 2.5 cred/res when you can easily sell the raw resources for 3 doesn't count as viable)

Personally, I sell at 6.5, but I doubt new archs could manage selling at those prices. I feel anything from 4.5-8 is a reasonable price, that makes it worth your time. (If you can't make a reasonable profit levelling up, you won't make a reasonable profit as a master. Make Arch worth your while, or move on to something else.)

No, and dont listen to anyone that tells you there is.

Some things to consider.

Most resrouces can be sold on the bazzar for 3 cr per resrouce, an arbtrary number but it is the market value.

The actual cost of making a resoruce is less than 1 cr for just about anyone, less than .5 for most of us.

You can make big profits or small ones. But if anyone tells you what price you are SUPPOSED to sell at, be wary, they dont have your best interest at heart.

Neither do I, but I wont lie to you.

A lot sell for 4cr per unit or mroe

3.5 per unit is more common

Some sell for less and more than that.

Choose your nitch and build your own busniess.

Take whatever advice you wish. Listen to the guy that's been an Architect for likely less than 2 weeks, or one of us that have been doing it since the game came out, and are still successfully in business. Dalyn's type burn out pretty quick, as they tend to get all the "I want my house for 5k now bitch".

I'd advise you to stay out of housing, as it's been saturated, and there's very little value in a house. Harvesters have a lot of value. They make credits. Heavy harvs generate about 25k credits of PROFIT a day. (More if you get more than 3 credits per) At 100k, they pay for themselves in 4 days. They never wear out.

I recently made 6 heavy chems, & dropped them on a high quality fibre that popped up. Before the shift ended, they generated about 56k fibre each. I sold that fibre for 5 cred/resource.

Those 6 heavy chems generated 280k each in 1 week, at a cost of 25k each. Now I can keep doing that, or I can sell them for 160k each. (Or 90k like Dalyn)

I'll leave it up to you to figure out which of us has more freedom in game to do what they want to.

Well considering that factory cost you 13K+ resources, you decide if it's worth selling for 12K.

Pricing is going to vary from server to server as you say, so I won't give you numbers to work with, just ideas.

First of all you won't be doing yourself any favors laboring under the impression that selling your product at all cost is the most important thing. There are some crazy folks running around under the impression that flooding the market at very low prices will help them once everyone has everything they need and there is virtually no architect market left. Don't let them fool you. When there is no longer anyone to buy anything being known as the sap who sells for less than resources are worth won't pay your upkeep.

If you have to, run missions to feed your harvesters, or sell off some resources at market rates. You will still be better off than if you'd lowered your prices in an attempt to sell things as fast as you make them. If you really need money look to a master architect willing to pay you to make walls for them, this can be very lucrative. If you are not desperate, I advise making walls for yourself and saving them for later when you will need many many walls per day. Eventually you'll be happy to have this stash when a big order comes in.

Just be patient, don't let folks lead you to feel pressured to sell anything and certainly don't feel pressured to sell for less than things are worth. There is a certain element more interested in stroking their own ego than your well being and they will throw all sorts of silly chatter around in hopes that you will burn yourself out based on their misleading comments.

I can't emphasize this enough, enjoy what you are doing. Don't let others pressure you or you'll end up hating what you are doing. Any time I start to feel stressed about building or prices I take a few days off and go out shooting with my PA's hunting folk. The business will be there when I get back and I'll be relaxed enough to enjoy it. Despite the efforts of a certain percentage of architects to destroy this business there is still some life left in it. Enjoy.

Dalyn, Im a firm believer in sell for what you feel is best, but in all seriousness, your "sell for cheap as dirt, it's the way to go" ideal's arn't needed in every single thread on the board.

Some people don't have the extra lots you have

Some people don't have friends that will help him harvest

Some people don't have the drive to make life difficult as you seem to have

And some people actually like to believe that what they make has value.

Telling every new player you see that they really have TONS of cash & resources at their fingertips and selling for dirt cheap is perfectly fine because they'll be able to make money regardless really isn't the best thing for these players.
