Thread: Fusion Power is the same as everything else

Ok... I read with interest a post in here the other day about how radioactive power that is OQ 500+ actually is worth MORE than 1unit of power.

I don't see that at all.

I have a very large quantity of OQ-936 radioactive ore that I use for power and to test this theory out, I made a new harvester so it would have 0 power. I deposited 10 units of energy and the harvester then had --- 10 units of energy...

All of the stats on this radioactive ore I have is over 600.

I don't see the benefit of using radioactive ore, other than it can be collected a LOT faster, over the other types.

I see guys running around the big cities shouting "100k units of radioactive ore for sale! Last twice as long as wind or solar!"

Either 1) they are lying or 2) they are not lying and radioactive ore is bugged.

The way they did this was VERY confusing...

When you go to deposit power...look at how much power it says you have in the pop up.

Then look in your inventory.

The amount of power in your pop up will be greater than the amount in your inventory.

Its the Potential Energy that matters, not the Overall Quality (OQ).

So if you have something that is PE of 300 and OQ of 999 then its still just worth one energy per unit.

But if iit is PE 700 and OQ 12 then its worth 1.4 energy per unit.

I dont' know but the change may only apply to stuff harvested after the patch implemented the change.

It is working for me, I couldnt be more pleased.

It applies to stuff harvested before the patch. I had just purchased 100k of 908 PE Radioactive right before the patch went in and am loving the stuff.

So, if I'm understanding this right, 10 units of RA power last longer or is more efficiant than 10 of say solar power? Is that the gist of it?

100 units of 1000PE Energy (Solar, Wind, OR Radioactive) will show up as 200 when you access the "Deposit Power" option on a harvester or factory. With my 100k of 908PE power I saw about 180k in total power on the Deposit Power screen.

I can verify that Mocras is correct.

One of the things that initially confused me regarding energy with high PE, is thatI expected that whenI deposit 10 units of radioactive mineral with PE 1000, that the system will say, "20 units of energy in reserve." But the system just says "10 units of energy in reserve."

WhatI did not notice initially is that the amount of power I had in my inventory and the amount of power that I had available to deposit via the "deposit power" option did not match. But rather, I had more power made available to me when I accessed the "deposit power" while my inventory simultaneously still showed a lower amount of energy.

I went home for lunch and checked this out myself.

My power ( at 720 potntial ) was not 2X avalaivle, but still quite a bit more than the number of units I had when depositing power.

I believe the % of 1000 is correct.

so 500 = 100%

I like it.

%Increase = (PE-500)/5

If %Increase < 0 then %Increase= 0.

So if you have PE 500:

%Increase = (500-500)/5 = 0%

PE 600:

%Increase = (600-500)/5 = 20%

PE 700:

%Increase = (700-500)/5 = 40%

PE 1000:

%Increase = (1000-500)/5 = 100%

I have verified this too. Solar energy does not seem to have as high a potential energy rating in my area, but the radioactives have beenvery highof late. Perhaps that will change over time.

At first, I thought that I must have dumped some power in the bank (when I noticed that I had more power to use than I had in my inventory). *chuckles*
