Thread: Architect Morale Poll
Got boring. Felt like work... Yadda Yadda... same stuff everyone else reports
This is a "" from Gnomepunter
"At this very moment, not counting any changes that MAY come our way.
1) The INSANE amount of resources required.
2) The INSANE amount of resource lost on a crit failure (because you also loose subcomponents that have already passed and been made).
3) The constant moving of resources, sometimes as soon as 3 days, and having to constantly find new spots.
4) The constantly low % spots of ore.
5) The fact that ant hills and bugs stop placement of large harvesters, let alone that tiny little dip or bump or slight .05 degree incline.
6) Schematic problems that stop production in a factory and you have to babysit the factory to hand feed it.
7) Having to place more than 1 house because of having to have so many resources that you run out of room.
That's what bugs me as an architect"
I agee with everything Gnomepunter said.
But the most thing that bug's me the most is the resource shift i don't care if this is just a game but in any planet around the solar system resources do not shift they run out but not SHIFT i would not mind so much of a ore at 80% ran out but for it to pick up it's bags and move to the other side of the planet is really funny to me how can the resources just move like that. Did they call ashuttleand pay 5k credits to move to the new location. ![]()
I also agree with the houseunits small house = 150 units med = 150 large =250 now come on how can a small and med house hold the same and a large house is only 100 more units then both of them.I understand thatwe need caps in the game but if i had 1000 chairs in my house is that really going to make someone mad at me that i can place my but down 1000 times or slow down the server.![]()
now one more thing that bugs me is that a architect only gets 10 building lots i unstand how that works and why there is a cap for that but with player cities coming out a Master Architect should get more building lots for example A larger house uses 7 building lots and if i wanted to place one for my self i would only have 3 lots for harvesters so what that is telling me is thata Master Architect has to look poor and stay with a small house or med house. Yes i know i can buddy up with some one but that bring us back to the caps on units aloud in the house's.
Thanks ![]()
I would pay $200 in the real world for a program that would let me design deeds for inclusion to the SWG universe. There's an idea!

My becoming a master architect was purely an accidental thing. Originally, all I wanted was to be able to make my own power-thingies so I could be a self-sufficient Droid Engineer.
I mean, Droids seemed like "the bomb". I could make droids! Let someone else worry about ore and metals and what-not. Ugh.
Then, I needed mediums as my personal harvesters just didn't seem enough. Okay. Make some.
As I made them, my Architect xp shot through the roof, and heck, I had lots of skill points, and heck, training was free from my buddies, so...
Then, a major patch came out and the DE grind was absolutely horrible and DE's got NOTHING. And, I was needing Heavies. What the heck.
Next thing I knew, I was a Master Architect and I'd untrained DE all together. I was primarily making my own heavies and on occassion, making stuff for others.
Architect income was my largest source of income, by far. When the new patch hit and I could make 10 pull heavies, I sold six of them to other players for 130,000 per sale. I made over 1M credits in one night that way (I made them in a factory. Mwa haa haa).
Now, all my 7 pull heavies are worth poop. Can I say poop here?
I'm using 7 pull mediums as my staple now anyway. Why bother with heavies when I can get 7 pulls off a medium? Heh?
Anyway, so, my base expectations on being an Architect are pretty low to begin with. I never even planned on it, but I wouldn't give it up now for anything. It's a huge cash inflow, if I'm willing to do the work and can find peeps needing the harvesters.
Right now, I'm just sitting tight and using up what item's I'd already made and not making much else until I see the next batch of changes. Of course, I'm gathering all the Ore I can. I only have about 200K Carbonate and about 300K or so of Silicastic, but it all adds up over time.

Need some sinks for pooling xp at Master to continue some sort of slow advancement. Honestly, Weaponsmith has more or less seduced me away from focusing on Architecture. Full Experimentation is far too much fun.
Negative feelings - Well to be honest I have no drive to make Master Architect. I would rather use my skill points for other things. Housing has slowed but not completely dried up. My biggest complaint is Critical Failures. I've ranted before on those but it's like beating a dead horse to repeat it again, so I won't.
A problem I have noticed which is kinda irritating is that my vendor is run along the same lines as the bazaar. After a few days all my stuff gets sent to the store room. Kinda stupid that I have to relist my own items on my own vendor. Especially when I try to keep at least 100 furniture items on at all times.
Positive feelings - Well I run a furniture store at the moment and I have to say it actually is rewarding to see my products sell. I seem to be making a name for myself around Moenia and that makes me feel good.
Well I do enjoy the majority of our craft, I tend to enjoy crafting in most of my games.
Things that bug me and lower my happiness about the job would be:
The whole not being able to factory produce items made with factory componets(such as walls) with out first removing those componets from the crate.(making it so I can only make a max of 9 walls)
Only having 10 lots is not fun. If I want a large house to store and display my items I have to use 6 of the lots available to me.
The constant low concentration of ore anywhere or the areas I have found greater that 56% are usually in the water or on the side a hill or in the middle of town. what is the purpose of having 70% con ore on a cliff, so that by the time you can place your harvester you back down to around 50% concentration.
More of a nuisance than anything else is the massive unuseable space between most houses and structures. I hope we can put these new gardens and what not in that space.
Speaking of that type of stuff, I have a balcony on my large house, why can I not put chairs and plants out there? Also the whole have to drop stuff on chairs to give it elevation but you can not pass it through a door to put it in a room next to the stairs. give us the ability to move item up and down in elevation in a room. I know a musician who wanted to have a "music" room in his house and all he could do was either have it in the main room or have all the tops of his instruments just sticking out of the floor 3/4ths buried.
these are the things that bug me and make me wonder about our profession. Will I give it up? no, I worked too **edit** hard and used too many materials to justify just giving it up.
and one other thing. the people who just harvest to sale materials for 10 upwards of 35 credits per unit where we are lucky to be able to charge 2.5-3 credits per unit for a house or anything we make. I know someone who just sold 200k of a material for 6 million credits. hmm and ya wonder why were getting killed here.
