Once you've made master arch and maxed out your structure xp points, you're not really forced to do anything. (Assuming you are waiting for the urban planner profession to come out.) I've taken down my vendors entirely. I do e-mail orders (and I still get quite a few) for large structures, but mostly I'm now just running 16 large harvesters 24/7 stockpiling the things I use the most and anticipate needing. I'm trying to build up a stock of a couple of every type of large structure for my "sales backpack" for fast turnaround sales, and to have the resources amassed that I might need when new things come out to make.

If I go a few days without a sale and want to keep my bank balance steady, I'll toss ten or so stacks of resources on the bazaar at around 3K each and that pays my harvesters and fusion generators for a few more days just fine.

I think my prices are *very* reasonable, if not "too cheap". (e.g. 60K for a medium house, large for 120K, Fusions 175K, Heavy Harvesters 90K, etc.) so I can make the odd sale and be happy. But I'm also not in such need of money or supplies that I'll lower them just to compete with somebody undercutting the market or give in to the whiners who say "But there's lots of people selling large houses for 75K!"

"Oh? Really? Then you'll do much better buying from one of them. Good travels to you."

I pay $105k for my larges, $45k for my mediums, and$8k for my smalls- and the architect is STILL making profit. He's got reams of resources at his disposal, and does a lot of business because of his prices. Averages on my server are $150k large, $60k medium, and $10k small - but only fools would pay it when there are deals around to be had.

Some of those people buying from you guys are getting HOSED. Oh well, it's their own fault, I suppose - if they LET you take them, then hey ... take 'em ~J

While I do not begrudge other arch who sell for THAT CHEAP, I believe they are ruiningthe market for structures. There are other factors besides just "cost to build." You have crit fails, you have travel expenses sometimes, you have resource shifting, making you have to move all your harvesters every week. And lets not forget your valuable time. While other professions are doing missions to make money, architects are spending hours surveying, managing harvesters, contructing buildings, ripping outhair when trying to use their factories... hours spent sitting around trying to sell your products... When in all likelyhood, that architect is making alot less money than a combat profession doing destroy missions in the same amount of time.

Its for the love of the job that I remain an architect, as ironic as that seems. Very few people consider that an architect can hire themselves out as a interior decorator. A customer could very easily spend more than what the house itself costs on just furniture for said house.

Ok, my comment about greed was not targeted at architects that sell at higher prices as i do.

It's targeted at the root of the problem and that's resource dealers that sell for 3 + cr per unit.

Lets just take 1 person with 10 lots.. and 10 large harvesters placed on an average 75% spot.

That's 75600 resources per day = 226800 credits per day. Let's say you buy the power for 1 cr per unit then you expences are 40000 credits per day, or 46428 credits by taking redeeding them once a week into account.

So in one week you net 1,587,275 credits with not much time involved to run this. No risk neither.

In other words you make 488% net profit.

And anyone who is telling me less then 3 cr for a resource is not worth it ? Do a reality check sometimes.

But if some Architects or other crafters are only after the cash and not interested in the Architect profession at all and building stuff is not fun but a pain in the rear forthem then i realy dont know why in the world you play an Architect. Or any crafter for that matter. That brings me back to the greed theory.

Sorry, i see it to often that crafters dont realy like what they do and just want to make the biggest amount of money in a short time with the least effort possible. There comes two things together.. greed and lazyness go hand in hand.

And every crafter i met who loves what he's doing has no problem at all. Not with cash, customers or making stuff at reasonable prices.

One reason is they dont need to get payed for there TIME. They ENJOY it, it's what they want to do.

This is a game and crafting shoudl be fun for you if you play a crafter. That time argument is like you dont go out for dinner or the movies becouse your time would be to expensive and valuable to have fun.

This is not RL, if you see crafting in a game like a RL job then something is wrong imho.

Drueric do you ever make a sale? I never seen anyone charge as much as that, I only paid 130k for my Large Generic, and it was from a guy I don't even know and I even told him I had no clue what they cost, so he probably could've gotten over on me a little. But there's no way I'd pay 200k for a large house, most people only charge 130-160k on average that I've seen.
