Thread: State of the Architect End of October
ok i guess i'll add my two cents in here.
first and foremost, fix the ore concentrations! i havent seen a concentration of ore higher than 60 in i dont know how long and higher than 50 is almost as rare. we need more ore than every other resource combined to make anything and i am surprized to only see one other complaint on this post about this problem.
second why are architects targeted by the only factory that requires 2 slots? we need our harvesters more than any other crafting class, so it makes sence to further limit how many we can have? this is so stupid i cant imagine i havent seen anyone else complain about this.
third custom crafting! why we cant even customize the color on furnature is baffling, tailors have custom color and they cant even experiment yet! the little bit of customizing we can do with the different house styles is almost worse to have than not, it takes so much resources to make anything are we really supposed to make one of each type just so we can know what the differences are? why isnt there a floorplan instead of the stupid deed image to show what a house will be like before we craft it? and why so many different corellian houses? are we all supposed to live on corellia and this is some lame insentave to boost that planets population?
well lose are my three biggest gripes, as for the whole holocron issue why bother. do you really feel random class crunching is an acceptable way to earn what should be the coolest class in the game? let the combat mongers reapholocrons SOE is just going to turn jedi into the mother of all pvp classes and i for one am sick of the overwhelming pvp influence on this game.
Whoo! Zooby 1, RotorofCorRng 0!
Just kidding, of course. ![]()
As far as custom colored furniture goes, the art designers have to paint it. While it's coming, I hear, it's going to be awhile - there are certainly more pressing needs than for us to have 15 flavors of the futon.
If you folks haven't noticed, Corellian houses have changed slightly. They're still the generic floorplans in shape and size, but now they're black in color. This is currently on TC, and will come down to live the next patch-go-round (what, next week i think it is?).
Finding ore afield is certainly a challenge. I've seen 80s in hilly areas or cities. Otherwise, in large-harvestable areas, the best I've seen is 66%, and I've been playing since launch.
The truly only gripe I would like to submit is variety. We don't have enough furniture models or house models. Everyone looks the same. It'd be nice to really richen up the world with alot more variety. I understand that there are more pressing needs for other professions and bugs and the like, so I'm fairly patient with it. All told, we're a pretty "together" class of profession. Not as many bugs or issues as other people.
The only other thing I would like to see, is when you re-deed a structure, it reverts to what the architect named it. It doesn't do that now, but reverts to its default deed name.
I just have one request. I'd like my factory made crafting stations to at least bear my name as the object creator... so I don't have to plaster my name into the object name.
At the moment, I hand-craft all my furniture, so I don't have to use a lame "-by [annoying architect]" line like you see on a lot of furniture... as well as many clothes.
I have a couple suggestions, stealing some of the Ideas in the Thread and adding them up. Ok, to make it possible for the Artisan Classes to get Holocrons we need to be able to survey for them and craft them (thats what we do).. and here is a way to do it (Credit to the guys who previously posted the meat of this):
1. Create the Acheological Survey tool. It would act much like resource surveying and Treasure maps combined. Also "treasure" would rotate like current resources do. So, at any time there could be many types of treasure. These types could be:
Pre-Historic: Bones, Pottery etc.. (I am thinking 1-1000 chance of maybe hitting a Kryat Skull)
Jedi Era: Old Saber parts, Holocron shards, Lightsaber crystals (Holocron Shards and the parts of the tool to assemble them can be found with this resource tree).
Old Republic Era: Old Weapons; Broken stuff (junk vender type stuff) and parts for the Holocron assembley tool
Alien: DOT Weapons, neat looking but unusable trinkets.. (lava lamps
)..
There could be Many many more but I am in a rush.. this is just a sample
2. Once all of teh pieces of the Holocron Assembly tool have been found (Which should be a major task within its self), use a Schematic that is found via a quest (Yes we will have to go on a quest.. but no fighting.. just a lot of Off world delivery and escort quests.. and maybe some puzzles to figure out.. who knows) and an advanced crafting tool and workstation.. There is a higher chance for critical failure - since this is ancient technology.. Experimentation will make the Holocron Assembly tool more effective (less chance of loosing your holocron shards and rare resources to a critical failure)
3. You must collect Holocron shards and some rare metals (the metalswould come from the pre-historic and Alien loot) lets just throw a number of ten shards out there (which are lets say 1-1000 chance of finding) and 100 of each of the rare metals (lets say three rare metals.. maybe each from a differnet era) There will be a VERY high chance of critical failure.. lessend by the efficency of your Holocron assembly tool..
This would make getting a Holocron hard, but it would be rewarding.. and no elite BH skillz needed..
Just a thought
