Actually some items take up more space like factory crates and such.

I have a lot of experience with photoshop, and I don't think the photo was faked, unless it was by someone very good. The artifacting is from using a high compression setting on the JPG. But if you look closely, you'll see that the artifacting does not match up on any of the numbers, which means either it's not a cut/paste job, or it's by someone pretty familiar with faking pics. Either is certainly possible, but why would someone bother to fake it? Maybe to troll I suppose.

FYI to the poster whos system was giving a shutdown timer... you have the MSBlast virus. Get the patch and the removal tool here:

The screenshot is really not relevant since he could have sent the email to himself and then blocked out his own name as the sender.

It proves nothing at all.

Oh again for those that do not believe, let's try the developers' own words:

Note the use of the word 'reliably'.

Not exactly comforting to find out that finally on day 5 they finally admit there might be a problem and they want our help. Too bad we wasted 5 days of hiding behind deleted posts before any acknowledgement.

If they were hiding the fact of this horrid situation to further catch a lot more of the dupers, then I'll be thrilled. But onlyAFTER I see from SOE some statement of how many players were BANNED PERMANENTLY so I can know that it was worthwhile.

2 factory crates = 10 slots + 11 items = 21 items

The dupe bug has been fixed...Supposedly nobody can do it anymore....but there is no way to repair the damage unless they go after EVERYONE who did it....peeps now have larger stockpiles of the BEST resrouces ....more than all the junk resrouces we can mine in a long time....no telling how long this has been going on, but it has been like madness the last few days.....i think we need a couple days of rollback to cure this problem....that is the ONLY solution, cause there is no way the devs will have the time to investigate every case....anyone who objects to this obviously exploited the game.

The dupe bug is definitely real... I've done it twice inadvertantly. It's obvious when it happens. And any post that outlines how to perform an exploit will get deleted (and should get deleted). That's why the original thread is gone. If someone outlines how to do it on this thread, it will be gone too.

Some exploits are difficult to fix and can require extensive recoding. The best and only thing they can really do while they go about fixing it is to perform damage control. Warn/ban people doing it and try to keep it from spreading. Given a limited number of programmers these things take time.

As far as being game breaking, yes... this is a real discouragement to people who are getting resources the "hard" way. It also completely unbalances the economy depending on how widespread it is.

The one person I know who uses this bug regularly has the attitude that, and I quote, "As long as the punishment is just "Don't do that again." I'm going to keep doing it as much as I can." Imagine, an unguilded master architect with NO harvesters.

I'm just saying its a little early to wave the "game breaking" flag yet. It has a whole lot of potential for it however. It will be corrected, hopefully very quickly. I don't think the people that are taking advantage of it are the kind of people that will be playing this game very long anyway. They'll step back and say, "Wow! I broke 10 millions credits! Now i can...uhhhh....hmmm". Then they'll move on.

The journey is the fun part with SWG, and any good MMORPG, not the destination.

Maybe I'm the only one seeing this, maybe I'm just wrong, BUT why does his pack say 21/50 when he only was 13 things in it? Does that prove that this is fake? I believe that proves it. I think he forgot one thing to try and fool everyone.

The 2 Synthetic items are in factory crates which count as 5 items. 10 + 11 = 21

I'm from flurry also, and i know who your referring to. There is an architect in the City of Coronetthat has around 50 backpacks next to hisvendor. the backpacks have various resource names on them. his vendor sells resources in chunks no smaller then 10k but upwards of 100k. He's been at this since about 1week into the start of this game. His house is gone now.. mysteriously disappeared last week. I've not seen him since. I wont say his name because there is a small chance i may be wrong in his conviction. I have given that name to the CSR's in my trouble ticket. I've been suspicious of where/how he's gotten a hold on so many resources, this thread pretty much confirms what i've believed all along. The screenshot posted is nothing compared to this guy.. he had 5-10 times that for sale on his vendor at one point.

anyway I hope they fix it before someone replaces him.. if they dont.. its only a matter of time till someone does.
