Thread: Why we get such rediculously poor credit/resource ratios
Xukan, greatobservation - I didn't mean to sound like I was stealing your thunder in my post (which is similar but not the same)...this has been kicked around and psted aboutduring beta and no.one.seems.to.hear...very aggravating.
Basically, every house is the same....that's the bottom line - so why should we bother with this profession? From type to type - the essentials do not change. One Naboo house is the same as another of the same size. There isn't even some rudimentary aesthetic options, as far as I know.
It demeans the profession in real - life...which is my biggest grief, since I AM an Architect! All the other stuff gets cool options, why doesn't the Architect?! ![]()

Kurtlmak--
I didn't mean to make it sound like I thought you sounded like you were trying to steal my thunder
Just posting around, hoping that someone from developement is reading these and realizing there is a consensus here... It's not just a couple pissed off, no people skill whiners that wanna make uber phat $$ and have the best proffession. It's a lot of people, a great many of which are reasonable, that think we deserve, at very worst, something to make the construction tree worthwhile.
Wonderful idea, Spatz... Mmm... One problem tho--
Architects aren't the only buyers. Armor and weaponsmiths can easily turn a massive profit buying high-qual coppers and such at 5c/resource.
Copper is much easier to find than low-grade ore. Who in their right mind would search for hours looking for a 70% vein of something they can sell for 2-3creds/resource when they could look for 10 minutes and find high-qual copper in the 80's and sell it for 5?
Ohh, right, you're gonna give them all a waypoint. That kinda suggests that they'll all be mining the same thing... which means their personal harvesters will become completely useless in a matter of days...
And, even still, the weapon and armor guys will buy up whatever they can put on the market for 5c/unit.
Wonderful idea... explain to me how it works?
Failing that, explain to me why we should barely get by paying the bills while there's other craftsmen around that are rolling in millions?
Failing that, explain how the modest profit we make selling our structures can cover the extra costs... like, say, when you crit on a PA hall, like I just did last night?
Yes. I'm completely bitter. Sorry bud.
