Slow...luckily I lined up a big sale of HQ ore the week it came out and finally went over a Million credits. But lately I am just pacing myself, not really trying to stock my vendors a whole bunch. Just keeping 3-5 of each kind of house on the Large end.About 4-6 of each for Mediums...and I got enough smalls.Hopefully when the new expansion hits there will be an influx of new customers, because I only sell houses as an Arch. I sell alot of miscellaneous items, but I dont make alot of money off that.
My prices are reasonable:
18-19k for a small
65k for Planet specific Medium
70k for a Generic Medium
120k for all Larges
I harvest most of my resources, occasionally buying if I see a deal. Like .5 cpu..or 1 cpu. Overall I am trying to keep my expenses down until the market stabilizes. In the meantime I have been trying to figure out ways to get players to visit the city I live in, so that they visit the shops. I had a long detailed description for my business as an AD on the vendor search. BUT today I found out that "they" cut half of my message off. Unfortunately this limits my advertising on the vendor/bazaar market because it was a really good ad.
I think if you live in a city with a shuttleport, you are way ahead of people who are in the middle of nowhere. The goal then is to make coming to the city interesting. I am looking at using some of my funds to create events(player-event perks or otherwise) in the city so that people will visit, shop around a bit while they are there. One of the things I have been learning in collegeis that you cant compete on price, there has to be something about the place that will make you come back and pay more. Why go to a diner that has a good lunch for 5 bucks when you can go to Hooters and pay 8-12 dollars for decent food. Making the experience memorable/different/interesting will make loyal customers. I send emails to each and every customer who buys off my vendor. I rarely get a reply back, but when I do they are happy with my place because it is well stocked and has variety. THAT keeps me coming back and trying to be a better owner at what I do.

Sales have been pretty good. Lots of resource sales. The harvester/structure sales are picking up, but I recognize many of the purchasers, so not sure if my price reductions really had any effect.

My sales have dropped off in the last couple of days, but I'm not sure how much impact the scramble to play the CU on TC has had on that.
However, my insanely expensive swoops have been selling as good as ever.

"What sales?"
Though I tried an experiment that someone suggested to get on the first page (didn't work), and ended up havingfun setting up a new shop. No sales from it yet, but I think anyone that wanders in will get a kick out of it.
If you're on Starsider, head to the Rebel outpost on Rori, then about 900 meters due south. There's a guildhall named the Watchtower, with a round Naboo small houseright in front of it. The door sign on the small housesays, "Vendors and Free Kittens inside."
Enter, and stop at the door to the room on the right....wait there to letthe house load.
PS: take a close look at the one on the chair.

Guess i must be one of the lucky one's, haven't lowered my pricing, house's go for 10K/49K/125K and harv';s for 140K, all been moving. Loot furn like the blue couch's going strong too, got ton's of that stuff so I stick them on the general bazaar for 20K, white furn seems to be big too.

W T F? I did a million in business last night. Of course, being an architect, that was in less than ten items.... it's boom or bust. Over the time since the Great Merchant Nerf of '05 I have observed the following:
What's selling: Resources (ore, solid petro*), harvesters, fusions, 15.0 tools, the occasional guild hall or city hall, some small or medium houses. Looted paintings & furniture.
What's not: Most furniture, factories, paintings, large houses, civic buildings, gardens/fountains.
What's really not: common posters (party), skill bonus injectors, blue and orange threads, etc.
*Thats all I've put up for sale so far.

Starting to pick back up.
I looked a bit on the galaxy vendor and a lot of the insanely low priced people are out of stock. Knowing how long it takes to put together most of this stuff I should be good for a while.
And an above poster is correct (I hope) the new expansion will bring in new peeps.
