lol, I do agree that i may help people a little to much an its true boba you really shouldnt ask for free heavy miners. I mean most of us dont get BER 13 miners for some time. Also i must say i do hate it when people make my spatial chat lag when all their saying is can someone give me some creds for annoying you? Every once in awhile though there is a noob who comes along and is just trying to make his way through the game. I wish someone had helped me out when i was a noob. So i help those who seem to be honest (all the ones ive helped have been) and in the end the reward of seeing the newbs who just a few weeks ago were begging for some help with getting DE are now makeing you any item you want. As i said i can basicly get any crafter items i want for free now. I say that pays off for just helping get through, but thats just my oppinion.

I would rather not get handouts through the game. There is no fun in getting told how to do stuff in the game. Its loke buying a single player game and getting a free walkthrough with it, then using the walkthrough for every step of the game. Its so much more fun doing it yourself, finding out stuff yourself. I wish I could feel the same WOW factor as I did when i knew nothing about the game. I have done alot of people favors, but i only do favors to people who deserve it. Many people ask me for 10-20k so they can buy a speeder and pay me back next week. i am not bothered about the 10-20k it is not that much for me. I am bothered by the random cheek that they ask for this amount of money. 10-20k is not hard to get, its a few hours of "playing" the game at most. if they cant do that then they dont deserve to be given 10-20k.

Ive given away holocrons before, ive given large houses to people before, hell i spend most of my time developing a city which benefits 100's of players on this server, its a home to 100 players, a trading place for 20-30 crafters and a hunting ground for many many more. So no one can say that i am not generous. This player has done nothing for anyone as far as we know. yet he is asking for nearly half a million credits worth of items. People just dont give away that sort of stuff. The only time I would ever do that is to a real life friend that plays SWG or someone ive known ingame for ages that have earned my respect and have earned that favor.

Heavy Miners are the most expensive. You can actually start with personal harvesters and move up quite quickly. There are many posts on other boards about how to do this. Try WWW.SWGCraft.com for one.

Also, you should join a good player association or guild. They will help. Sometimes just joining a city will suffice.

Flaming, is the one thing you can count on in this game. It is easier for some people to flame than to answer a question or request; so they flame. Ignore those that do. They are playing the game as a competition against other players rather than as a roleplaying experience.

Finally, the game has limitations as to how things can be done; the fun is in finding how to make use of these to create a new and challenging experience. Starting from the beginning and working your way up slowly and thoroughly will give you many rewards later on in the game.

With all due respect T'Elder, in this case most people are not really flaming, just laughing amongst themselves at the naivety of somebody who seems to feel it is natural to ask for 'something for nothing'.
After all in a modern society this is just not the way things work (if they ever did).

Would our noob think to walk into a bank and ask them tolend him 1 mill with nocollateral or security ? Methinks not, and although this is a game, human nature is such that the inevitable response to a question like this one is 'what planet are you on?'

I personally think that with a few exceptions the response have been quite muted, howls of derision is more what I would have expected.

I never give anything to beggers. I do tip well for services rendered however. It is not the money itself that is important to me, it is the fact that I got to where I am without a single handout and I think others should do the same. My RL brother gets free top BER heavies from me but that is it.

Actually, I get unsolicited loan offers from banks all the time, not to mention an infinite number of credit cards. I'm seriously thinking of accepting like 100 of them, maxing em all out in a day, then starting a new life somewhere, maybe as some sort of vigilante superhero pornographer rockstar. That will show them.

What I find troubling is, what's the real life mentality that allows one to pan-handle even in a fantasy world, grab yourself a bit of pride man.
