Critical failures are a welcome part of the game.

Here's how you work around them. You charge enough for your crafted items to account for the occasional critical failure. If you're out there selling med. harvesters for 16k and expecting to make a ton of money, yet you whine about critical failures you're painting yourself into a corner friend.

Chargemore for your items and critical failures won't be an issue for you.

Everyone's mistake is that they DON'T figure critical failure into their prices. That is why I charge 5-7 credits per resource for any structure now.

It would be a mistake to take out critical failures or change it. That's just make'n the proffession even more common and every little 3-5 person group will be sporting PA halls. Makes me sick every time I see someone selling houses below 5 credits per resource. IT'S A FREAKING HOUSE. It's not a pair of pants or a nice gun, those are things that people should be able to do missions for a couple of hours and afford. A house should be something that the players have to save up money for a couple weeks in order to afford. Selling them at 2-4 credits is pathetic.

Where I live in the SF East Bay area, housing goes for over 400,000 dollars for a decent house, not a great house, a DECENT house. Man, I wish it was like in the game and I only had to work at my job for a couple of days and then some idiotic home builder who doesn't know diddly about how to price them comes along and says "hey, give me your two days pay and I'll give you that 400,000 dollar house your in the market for".

Solution:

Take the time to factory make your components and you will have ZERO failures on components. The only time you have to cross your fingers is on the final assembly phase, but the odds are heavily in your favor...

However, I did have a critical failure on a Naboo Guild Hall last week, so it can still happen.

And my prices are also in line with what people have posted here...I usually set mine at around a 3.2/1 ratio
