New (post patch) Planet Guild halls can not be placed on other planets as the various housing can. For example, a large Naboo house can be placed on Lok or Dantooine, but a Naboo Guild Hall can not. A Corellian house can be placed on Talus, but a Corellian Guild Hall can not.

And for all the time and resources put into a guild hall, it leaves a sinking feeling in the gut to see after assembly that the only planet the Corellian guild hall can be placed on is ... Corellia.

It's not quite as bad as a critical failure on final assembly. But almost.

Also, has anyone noticed that the cost to redeed harvesters is increasing arithmatically with every redeed? I pulled up a post-patch heavy today and it cost ~6500 to redeed... after I placed it, I tried to redeed it for grins and it was like ~9700 or something like that.

Someone tell me I'm crazy ...

I have to agree with a few of the points presented on the webpage. Which by the way is very nicely layed out.

As a Master Architect it's nice that we can build PA Halls and the new city buildings are great and all but how am I supposed to have a PA Hall for my use and have it take up way too many slots for me to be able to keep harvesting resources? I would like to have the ability to have a 2 to 3 man company for a business, but in order to have a PA, I need the PA Hall. My friends and I all use the harvestors that I build, and none finds the idea of wasting all their slots for us to have a business name. Hence the point about increasing the number of land plots that we can use is would be very nice.

But we really do need an incentive for going for the Master title. Something that is just for us.

A few ideas that I have for being an Master Architect would be:

1. Increase the number slots we can use or just get rid ofthe limit altogether.
2. Have a 'company' building/typeof associationthat can have max5 players instead of a PA and that only uses 1 slot.
3. Give the ability to build starships extra.

Mywishlist:

1. A hanger for storing, building, and modifying star ships.
2. A warehouse for use of building stuff instead of using houses.
3. An actual store with windows and a front deskfor the vendors to stand behind.
4. The 'company' building that I mentioned above or a private area on the second floor of the store maybe.
5. Modification ofall buildings with a few extra steps in the creation processwould be nice:
a. Floor pattern
b. Curtain style and colour
c. Outside and inside colour
d. Door style
e. Built-in lighting and patterns

I am sure there are more ideas that will come to mind eventually.

Will they be fixing the issue with not being able to tell what house it what by looking at the schematic? If they aren't going to show us what it will look like (as it does on the other schematics) can it at least give us the blueprint?

You need to add that newly crafted Tatooine Guild Halls can not be placed on Lok.

One of my Asthetical pet peeves.

1. You eaither have to use Torches or Street lamps in the home for lighting. Desk Lamps and Freestanding Lamps need to also Illuminate light.

There is one thing I am reading that may not be an issue or a bug.

When an item is placed in the ingredient hopper of the factory it doesn't show up. I believe this was SOE's solution to the incredibly poor performance when putting multiple items in it. It's actually much faster also when putting many things in there like structure modules.

Thanks

In addition to agreeing to all being said here, I want to bring to the table a point of view.

After all the effort put in into taking the architect profession, after being able to travel between solar systems and use laser rifles and all the high-tech things.

WHY? can we just not have a wireless status signal from our harvesters to a sort of either a portable display unit or if you want to make it harder then have it so that in order to have a harvester status display gadget you must build some sort of receiver in your home.

There are just things in the game that don't make sense.

Within these lines lies the true test for the DVs and the success of SWG.

A great page you have there. Thanks for the work you put into it. It reflects my feelings for the most part. Keep up the good work!

I'd just like to say that a critical failure on something as big as a guild hall final assembly shouldn't happen without some indication that it might. The quality of your tools should have some impact on your creation, but if the tool is so damaged or low quality that it will cause total destruction of the work in progress then there should be some indication and the failures should not be so random.

When GM builds a car from all the smaller component parts it made for it, how often do they DESTROY the whole car???

As previously said, this kind of thing really hits the Arch hard in the pocketbook and in the "fun" category. Could handle this much better if the tools used gave some indication of the risk of total failure BEFORE the assemble button is pressed. Or possibly a reason for the critical failure that the arch could then work to remedy. As it stands now, it seems totally random. At best it is predictable to the fact that the more you need it not to crit, the more likely it will happen.

I know its a long shot that they will change it now, but perhaps if we ask, it will be granted.

Could there be some standardization to the number of lots that homes (and PA halls) take and the amount that can be stored in them?

Here is what I mean...

Small house (regardless of size, style or planet), 1 lot, holds 75 items (like the small round Naboo)

Medium house, 2 lots, holds 150 items

Large house, 3 lots, holds 300 items (this is an increase in how much a house can potentially hold, but a BIG decrease in lots, and actually makes a large house give the most "bang for your buck" as it were).

PA halls take 7 lots and hold some really high number of items (like 500). Not very effecient compared to a large house, but if you REALLY want the storage space, its yours.

This would provide a lot more variety in player cities. (Right now most any city that can take "small round Naboos" is littered with them more than its with sewer rats ). It gives different size houses for different types of players (crafters would finally benefit by investing in a large house, for example). And it doesn't suck away so many lots from people who really need them to be able to use them for factories, harvesters, etc.

An excellent page well put together - however i mustsay that the 3-5 mark is way to high the 2cpu and lower for grinding architects is the norm on the chimera server now

Even Mineral mining installations (base extraction rate 10's) are being sold as low as 15000 and with experimentation the way it is, this will be next to impossible for any but Master to acheive.

I like the webpage also is great but like to add a few thoughts I have on making Architects as myself a little more in demnad, as mentioned once structures are sold there is no come backs which is killing the Architects field, me being a Master Architect would LOVE to see some of the following added to our abilities.

1. Add partition walls

2. Make carpeting and let us color it

3. Add windows

4. Balconey drops, PLEASE

5. Change outside of houses coloring

6. Add stairs

7. Add Balconey's

8. Make pictures, that we can place on walls

9. Add a buton to raise or lower item in houses

10. Instead of typing /rotate left/right 1-180 Add a button that will allow this.

Some of these changes that I ask to be reviewed are asked me on a constant basis. If these were implemented in game the Architect's might not needdisappear as mine almost has since cash flow has almost STOPPED.

Please review and maybe we Architects can get back in the economy with a decent cash flow. and be proud of our acheivement.

I had to start another account just to feed my Architectto keep him going and thats sad as I DO like the skill and don't want to trash it as I HAVE put alot into getting Master Architect and did it all alone with no PA help, which meant long hard road but I feel I have accomplished something in the end.But as resources dry up and customers fade away the Character is being used less and less everyday and getting to point were I might have to drop him and the account as it is getting less admiring each passing day, not to mention expensive hunting resources to craft with.

Just another Master Architects views.
