Thread: No love this Update
# Fixed exploit that allowed crafters to skip past critical failures
Now I certainly wouldn't mind this part *if* there were somewhere else a line in the patch notes that said "Fixed problem that caused critical failures to happen way too often." Of course, there is no such line that I have seen. So I'm probably going to log in tonight, crit failure two or three times in a row and since there is no longer a workaround I'll lose 30,000 or so resources in the process.
Three things
1.) We may have gotten no love on this one but the next patch will practically be all Architects with the player city addition (this is if they add it in the next one) And since im also a master CH on my Alt. Im gonna be extermely happy with the addition of mounts on the next patch also
2.) From todays patch notes
Added "empty harvester" button to discard ALL resources (This makes things go a bit faster)
Added more info when you examine a manufacturing factory. (Dunno how this helps us at all but it was in the middle of these 2 when i copied)
Fixed crafting manufacture schematic UI limit to go up to 1000 (So 1000 is a definate help since its not down to 100)
3.) I dont know where some of you get we cant harvest alot of resources. All I did while grinding was make my self all Heavy harvesters wich helps a ton. I average about 60k a day in ore and atleast that much in metal. But I have 2 characters (but one has 9 lots used up for my Shop wich is a PA hall)
Also on a side note since people hate this profession so much The whole time I was working on Architect all I read in these forums was that Architect sucks you cant make money ect... Well I clear after costs about 2.5 mil -3 mil a week in credits and I dont sell cheap either, but I do keep enough resources on hand to Make Big things very quick for customers. I have learned they are usually willing to pay a bit more for faster service.
*shrugs* I've almost got Master. Perhaps I will finish that up and then see. I picked up Novice Weaponsmith---maybe I will work on that. Maybe, I will just try my hand at combat for a while.

With the fix of the crit failure 'exploit', the only way to provide truly fast service is to a) have lots of pre-built inventory on hand or b) have enough resources on hand when taking an order to insure against a crit on the final assembly.

Yes I do keep inventory on hand as much as possible; I try to build at LEAST 10 (preferably 20 or more) of every component I make. My basement is full of ore mining units, manufacturing mechanisms, etc.
The only problem is walls. Ideally I'd like to plop about 200k of ore and 75k of steel into my factory and run off a bunch of walls, but it takes so LONG. At least after today's patch I don't have to uncrate my structure modules so I can let those eight hours wall runs go unattended now.
