A speed sliced or damage sliced flamethrower? What are the pros/cons?

Speed slice -never- hits the speed cap on Flame specials, you can't get them down lower then about 5 seconds. I've seen 7 s on a non-Krayt. Damage slice often outright kills even med-level creatures. I.E. 13000 damage in one shot, but a 11 sec timer.

3.0 is as low as it gets on non-legendary flamers. if you have a 5 sec flamer.....slap your weaponsmith.

post slicing gives me a 3.4 speed flamey that hits for 1.3k average per shot and 11k special, and a 4.4 for damage flamey that hits for average 1.5k per shot and 12k special
I think im being incredibly dull here but im yet to see flame cone 2 hit anything other than the target selected (watching ham's of aggros). What am i doing wrong ?

the flame cone attacks only do damage to mobs that are engaged in combat. if they are just sitting there, not fighting, the dot is still applied, but no actual damage is done. if 4 mobs are attacking one person, you can cone them all and do some pretty decent damage, assuming you hit them all.

I made schematics for +14 Ideal 3/3/3 HAM Advanced Scopes and +11 Ideal 1/1/1 Normal Scopes. Which should i have my factories make? Maybe the normal scopes on pistols and the advanced scopes on stocked T21's because of the already high HAM? What do you guys think?
