i'm 3442 and today at a 30 station i was making 10 mediums for someone. two came out ber9 instead of 10, and i had at least 10 fluid pumps have unacceptable experimentation results. i had little to no BF and it was not in a research center.
Since you are not a master those results seem to me in line with expectations. You are lacking 35 structure assembly and 20 structure experimentation, equal to 2 experiment points, of a master.

Does it really matter if your tools get damaged by a DB ? I checked my stats and none of them changed... they don't even show a condition though when I get DBed, it shows a 5% decrease.

Check your skill tree again. Master Architect gets +20 assembly and +20 experimentation.

I hadn't heard about crafting tool decay being a factor before. Guess it's time to whip up new ones, and then leave them at home.

I haven't noticed any correlation between tool condition and crafting success. I have no idea what state my tools are in now. ButI know that the Drall got the better of me a few times a while back (don't worry they all paid for it!!)and I had my tools all hit 0%. I don't always insure the tools cause its way too expensive at 250 credits a pop. Its cheaper just to buy new ones.
Well the point is: I didn't notice any change in my crafting success leading up to the point the tools hit 0%.
