Thread: How do you get the Structure Factory to pull structure mods from a crate for wall modules?
No chelmsford, you don't understand ![]()
Even if you make your harvesters in a factory (which I do), you don't need identicle walls, you can use any wall, hand made or factory made. It's just like when you make walls in a factory you can use any old structure module.
Im sure they do this on purpose to stop us making heavy harvesters by schematic....![]()
Ahh well ive given up them ever fixing this....
Well, my experience is that anything out of a structure factory does not work. You have to unpack it to use it for a schematic in the structure factory (generators, structural modules....). But Stuff made in other factories works perfectly.
Conclusion: The problem is not the crate itself, its something that hapens when the structure factory produces something. Some people guessed that the serial number is not finding its way to the crate.
Read ya.
Actually, normal subcomponents (turbines, harvester mech's, structure storage modules, power cores.. etc) will pull from crates in a factory, but modules and walls won't,.. if you notice, schematics that use modules or walls will have no serial number associated with the entry for them, that's why you can use any old module or wall, but also why it won't pull from a crate. (and in the case of the final products, I can deal with having to unload the walls by hand so that I can use any wall..)
One more post on this.. I wouldn't mind if they fixed it so that walls required the same modules that were used to create the wall schematic in order to fix this bug so I can produce walls in a factory efficently.. just as long as they don't change the way finished products work when produced in a factory (i.e. I can use any old wall ).
