OK, found contol unit under general crafting. was not looking there. Made the unit and I am beside the craft unit and I still don't see adv mot system. I will try logging to see if that does it.

It requires a private crafting station which has already been mentioned. The dorid brain will not appear in your schematic list unless you are by a public crafting station. Similarly a advance motive system will not appear unless you are by a private crafting stations. This is determined by difficulty. I do not remember the exact numbers but I think above 15 requires a specialized tool (i.e. not a general crafting tool) above 20 requires a public crafting station and above 25 requires a private crafting staion. I think advance motive system is 28. By the way , a private station looks just like a public station but it is in you shop or house (or the droid with wea;pon crafting module).

As has been stated several times you need a "private" station!
Just go to someone house, look for a vendor shop, like a weapons crafter house. Go in and make a whole lot of these, that way you can then make a probot at any public station.
