Thread: Identicle Power Core Units....WTH?!?!
Hopsink... I TOTALLY understand you man. I understand your frustration. I too has the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. For some reason, creating small amounts of power cores caused the factory to eat my res. I tried putting double the res needed but still ate it. maybe a smaller schematic would help? (mine was for 100 of course...). I only managed to get 2 out of it... needed 3!!! /sigh. I got so pissed at it finally I gave up... no Guild hall... then came the Lowca res change.... /sigh. I'd recommend 2 things... smaller schematic and making more power cores... 6+ at a time... you should at LEASt get 3 that way... maybe... I hope someone /bug 'd this.

I have the same problem. No matter how much I put into the factory it always come up one short. Additionally it seems to like to eat the generator turbines in particular. Sadly, I have to plan ahead and just make large runs of power cores (usually 10 at a time) deal with losing one and crank out 3 generic PAs from the parts. I have the same problem with wall units. I throw in 90 bricks with the metal and ore and I get 8 walls out, some left over metal and ore and 10 of the bricks get eaten. *shrug*
Its frustrating but keep at it. Eventually, some day it will get fixed. In the meantime thats the only workaround I know of.
BTW, don't bite the hand that feeds you, friend.
I too have failed 4 of 5 times to make the power core units. It is a known factory bug, and is intermittant. One time it works fine. Other times it makes 1 item, destroys all my turnines (leaving the rest of the materials) and I start screaming.
It is not specific to this schematic either. My DE friend Maggott is having lots of trouble on other master-artisan-level schematics.
It isn't working because its broken.
This problem is a bug and not a "user error".
We first encountered the problem two days ago when we began construction of our PA Hall. We had the exact problem as Hopsink describes, all the right resources, but no power core. In the end a CSR came and replace the missing parts.
Why this bug appears isn't clear yet.

I have this same problem, it ihas to do with the generator turbines. The bug eats two of them instead of one. I have sent a bug report about 10 different times and it is quite frustrating when you have customers waiting for large buildings. Oh, by the way, if any developers are reading this; it would be very much appreciated if i get 10 generator turbines placed back in my inventory with the serial number of | jedmtlrq | for all of the ones that have been eaten by my factory. It's Solen Hopkins on the Bloodfin sever.
Hey it's worth a shot, right?
P.S. Could you also make veins of the good low grade ore at 100% on all planets, for the insurrmountable amount that we need for Everything. Lol, thx.

when Player Cities and Mounts are getting a lot of attention at the moment. Vehicles is getting some, but will get lots more resources once mounts are out of the way.

i am sure this make sense
No.
The bug was a problem in manufacturing components that needed factory crate sub components, such as a power core. The bug started a few days ago. If the factory had inputs for n number of powercores it would produce n-1. Or 1 power core.
I just did a couple power cores today tho and it appears to be fixed with todays patch.
it is a bug left over from Beta(like a crap load of other... Virtually almost all of the architect bug are left over from beta). This bug had been known ever since the First PA hall competetion in beta 3.
I was master architect in beta 3 and had to deal with this bug back then just as I had to deal with this bug almost 2 week ago when I built my first PA Hall
best bet is to have enough resouces/compoennt to build 1 more power core then you need. Factory always eat one power core. so if you have enough resources for 4 it will only build 3.
Putting in a larger batch amount can be risky as some of you expereinced the factory sometime just eat the compoenents/resoruces without building anything or only building 1 or 2 power core.
Hmm. I didn't experience it in beta when I made my hall, nor did I hear about it when other architects I was in contact with made their halls. Not that that means anything.
I have personally tried the "make 10" workaround and still ended up with 1 PCU, a couple lost turbines, and a schematic that isnever able to be used successfully again. I also have made more PCUs with no troubles. To me, it looks to be a random chance of succeeding, tho I fail much more than I succeed.
I sure hope this is on the "fix it" list.
Hey corespondant! Escelate this, please!
