I have no problem with other architects charging whatever they like for their items but for pete's sake. Today I saw a post on the Chilastra forums, Architect selling small tatooine houses for 2.5k thats about .74 creds per unit. When you've got to figure your profit in one-hundredths of a cred your selling to low!!! My god, I sent him a message and told him to sell me walls at 2960 creds per wall (his price of .74) instead and I'll buy them all, turning around and charging the 11k per wall I charge when figuring the price of my deeds.

Everyone has a right to sell at whatever price works for them. That is what a free market economy is all about.

I have three small houses in my inventory that I bought for 3K each on the bazaar. How sad is that? I'm not an architect, BTW...

I personally sell for 3cr and round up a little bit as well... And I stick to that... The only time I go lower is if someone buys in bulk, is a repeat customer, or someone I know will help me out in the future...
I've gotten many tells lately asking how much for a medium house, and when I say 62k I don't hear from them again... But I have also made about 400k profit in the last couple of days just from filling out orders for harvesters...
I'm also considering the adopt an architect thing... Hrmm, maybe I'll go post it now!

Two things - for the truly novice architect - sometimes selling for 8K is what keeps his/her extractors running. You could also always try to take that architect under wing and offer to buy walls from them for 7K each - they get xp and an outlet, and you don't have to grind walls to make your large houses.

I know this works as it is what kept me off the starport hawking -- I was one who was selling small houses for 10K each (8K if you were a rebel like myself). Do I have any regrets about "damaging" the profession? Hell no -- I was surviving... Do I like selling walls better? Sure - it helped keep me afloat until now, where I have Buildings 4 and can sell my own medium and large houses, not to mention a nice nest egg of 220K credits so I can afford to go a while without a sale. It's all well and good for Master Architects with millions in the bank decrying the plight of low ball prices -- make a new character on another server and try to remember what it was like to start out.

Lastly, prices are in flux -- Scylla, where I play, has a major vendor who sells energy at .75 cred/unit. With those prices, I can make a REAL nice profit... my extractors are a lot cheaper to run (and I only keep mineral extractors out there now- no need to get my own energy).
