Ndainye,

I agree.... resources matter on experimentation..... which does nothing.... so in effect... resources don't matter. they have no proven impact on crit fails as higher or lower... as i said.... i rarely crit fail and i don't care if i'm using something with a rating all below 100 or all above 900.

The reason is because that's the way the designers created the SWG crafting system. It's a game, rl rules do not apply here.

"You gave me one reason, and not trying to flame you here, but it was a bad one. We have schematics for these houses, the same design is used over and over....so they are not poorly designed so walls will not collapse under pressure. It just doesnt work that way."

if you think all pieces of wood, metal, or stone work are ever without flaw and all the same, then you've never done that sort of work before in RL. If you think that someone who has done something hundreds of times before cannot screw it up once and a while, then you are living in a dream world.

lemme think... your metal in your steelwork could have been improperly forged, thus making them too brittle or too malleable... the possibilites CAN go on and on. There ARE perfectly good RP/RL reasons why this sort of thing could happen.

Let's be real here. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING can explain loosing everything.

There is only ONE reason why you loose everything. It's easier to code. Plain and simple.

There are no "Well, you built it wrong" or "the roof caved in" or whatever reasons. All that is just total BS.

It's so much easier for them to

If crit

destroy all

Else

assemble

instead of

If crit

while not subcomponent

destroy

else

assemble

It's very crude example I know but it's really that simple and they took the easy way out.

You can make all the claims of "bad buildings" or whatever all you want. It has absolutely nothing to do with simulating real world events. I eman you build something 1000 times, you don't build a bad building.

You may have a water heater that fails to work or a furnace that quits or something. You don't loose the entire house because the water heater don't work though.

ty scortch....

i realize this is not rl whoever brought that up before.....but scortch is right, it was just easier to code...the game was rushed out of production and architects like always got screwed.

I can see losing 1 or 2 parts, but not ALL of them....that doesnt make sense....chairo dont insult me just to try to make your weak argument sound better, thats just dumb

so is arrogantly assuming that what YOU want is clearly better.... just cause you don't agree with me doesn't make you right, and vice versa.

Now that Archangel is the correspondant i believe he will get things done.

The crit fail issue will be dealt with , until then i'm not making any large things other than for myself.

But no one seems to help unless it happens to them...

In about the last 67 assemblies (subcomponents, schematics, and final assemblies) I have 4 total failures. Only one of those are in the final assembly. I really do not see all that much of a problem since I upgraded my tools and stations.

constructively eh? "no I am sorry, your thoughts on it are bad, but only cause I don't want to hear your explanations as to why such and such can occur." there is nothing constructive going on here. All people want to do is come here and bitch cause they haven't figured out how to make the game mechanics work. they would rather the game change for them.

im pretty sure no one said that, so i dont understand what your trying to say there...

well all of the posts on the forums are prettymuch people bitching about bugs etc...but in a sense this thread is constructive. no one here "hasnt figured out how to make game mechanics work"....stop belittling people )spelling)...we all know the system of crit fail and our voicing out opinions on the obvoiusly problems with it, especially in the architect proffesion.

there isa macro that you can run after you crit fail, when it looks like the resources are still in the schematic slots....

something like:

/nextcraftingstage;

/nextcraftingstage;

etc...

and then

/createprototype

that last step may be wrong, but yes there is a way
