Any "miner" template should have Survey IV imo...saves too much time.
Mask Scent can also save you a lot of time.
If you want some fighting skill, I'd suggest Swords which doesn't need to be master to be effective in pve....if you like crafting, maybe Architect to build yourown harvesters? Of course once you make what you need, you won't have to make anymoresince there's no generaldecay on them.

This to me is a miner template,, it leaves you with 158 points to do with what you want, me personally i would go CH/riflman as you can take out the baddies to set your miners up and skip the buffs, and save tons of money, not buffing to go on a miner run is very nice
adding
master rifleman,
creature handler0-3-1-4
novice medic
give you great combat and beable to use a nice pet, and double heal with medic. You wont need buffs, and you would be safe in the wilds or anywhere. very few things you would have to worry about.. soo you could drop anywhere with out calling in the calvery.
