I get emails saying it's out of BEC's, the output hopper of all my factories is at the most 25% full...

every factory does this, I run 50 of them on 6 factories

I made a schematic for 1000 of an item and it made 1002 of the item....

This has happened to me too, except it was with components (it ran out of a resource). It sucks to have stuff disappear.

Sorry - I'm out of ideas. Maybe take this same discussion to the Artisan forum or one of the medic forums to get other perspectives? Architects *use* factories a lot, but just because we build them doesn't mean that we understand the bugs or are immune from them. (Looks at the 40 uncrated Ore Mining Units in his factory and moans. )

I would check the list of ingredients need verse what’s in the input hopper, as you may have the wrong item in the correct input hopper if your Running 9 factories. Also notice that a factory will eat the resources need to make an item if its stopped anytime along the run.

I've been running factories for several months (though obviously not as intensely as you do), and I have had this occur twice, where a run seems to have completed, but there seems tohave been a problem with combining the last few components. I have also had a problem, where all the components were used correctly, but instead of one crate of 50, I got a crate of 34, and a crate of 16. (And I keep wondering why we can't just combine crates, when it is identical items).

I would theorize that possibly this could occur during our regular server reboots. If a reboot would happen to catch a factory just as it is doing a combine, the factory may "lose" the resources during the reboot, and then when everything comes back up, it is now short some of the items that it needs. Would probably have something to do with putting things on the stack (programmatically), and then having the stack purged through the server reboot.

Sounds like a good candidate for filing a /bug report. Not that anything will change, but psychologically it feels like you are doing something about the problem.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

I've had this happen to me before, and I finally figured out WHY.

I loaded up my factory with all of the components, but accidentally stuck in a crate of ABEC's with the wrong serial number. The factory ran through the first two crates of ABEC's just fine, but when it hit the third crate that didn't match the serial number on the schematic, it ate the resources for one additional enhance, less the ABEC's. It's as if the factory uses the first resource on the schematic, eats it, goes to the next, eats it, etc. If it runs out of something, the stuff on the schematic is already eaten, so we end up with lost stuff.

Moral of this for me was to make absolutely sure my subcomponent runs have names like ABEC 21/12 01-14-2 so I can SEE that they're different when I throw 'em in the factory.

I am having a problem with my factories, i have never had this problem. I have tried a few solutions and still getting the same problem but its getting worse.

I drop 5 structure factories, want to do full run of sssm's, ssm's, powercore, and 2 runs of generators. Restocking my inventory if you cant tell.

Anyways, i drop 5 factories i add power and maint as normal ( 30 days of both, my normal ). I make the schematics and add the correct resources and correct schematic. Make sure maint and power levels are up. And even take a min to name them "Uber Arch"

Now i log off thinking some of this would be done when i log back on, but the problem is they all stopped running. Ok so i check maint/power again, check to make sure hopper isnt full, and make sure the resources match the schematics. Everything is 100% ok. So i restart and log back off. Next day i log on and notice they stopped yet again!!!! But this time made 50% less than before.

So far in 3 days this is total:

day 1 = 240 items = 25 crates= 760 items left on schematic

day 2 = 120 items = 12 crates = 640 items left

today i check and it made 60 items = 6 crates.

Im thinking W-T-F!!!!

If i check tomorrow and its only made 30 items im going to be so pist.

This isnt a joke, nor have i had this issue. I havent even heard of anyone having this problem before. Stuff that should normaly take me less than 24 hours is taking 3 days to make lol. Its getting to be a hassle here.

Next step is to toss these 5 factories out and make 5 new ones. This is drivng me insane.

Anyone else having this problem, if so how to correct?

These factories are right outside my city so im not sure if that is the issue. They ran fine before, and this is same place i have always set them up time and time again. All of the sudden they want to play games with the owner- and Uber Arch isnt gonna have that.

Happens to me all the time. Have moved factories - destroyed and made more.

I am running 1000 Wall mods right now - it stopped at 530. Even got the email with the error from the factory.

I went ahead and pulled everything out of the output hopper - restarted - and it stopped around 350 the next time. So I pulled everything out and restarted again.

This happens so often anymore when I do runs of 1000 that I have just accepted it. Dont like it - but with the lack of lovin the Devs give us anymore I figure its not going to change.....

hey i'm going into the energy business for factories, what type of energy do you folks on intrepid
like the most? and what average cpu do you pay for it? Sorry if i get flamed for not putting this
in the trade forums, lol, but all input from architects and other frequent factory users is welcome.
I just need to know what type of energy is the best for factories and how much you all normally pay for it?

-thanks

Radioactive is ideal. Radioactive with PE above 850 is loved. Wind and solar i havent used since i was a newbie 13-14months ago. Plus you can pick up more using fusions than solar/wind harvesters.

1cpu for low pe, 2cpu for 700-850pe, 2.5-3cpu for 900+ pe average. Some try to sell for higher, greedy bastards. Then cry when we want 100k+ for harvesters
