Thread: Critical Failures? I think not. Bug/Exploit to avoid losing resources.

This IS an exploit. You fail the item but onarchitectureitems the resources stay sitting in the window. then you run that macro and you get the item anyway. It's not saying if you run the macro, you'll never fail.
I don't think everyone understands the severity of an exploit. Hopefully the CSR team will start acting like wedid on Everquest:
"Exploits are a bannable offense"
Then they can just swoop through here and snatch up all the accounts of the morons who admitted to using the exploit. Ignorance of the law does not excuse you from breaking it. A police officer will not let you off with a warning if you run over an old lady while drunk simply because you say "I'm sorry, I didn't realise that was illegal."
why do you post on something you oviously know jack about lol
The macro itself is not the exploit. As was said above, using the macro when you crit fail is. If you crit fail and still have the crafting station sitting there with the schematic loaded up and then use this macro you are EXPLOITING A BUG. It is an exploit simply because structural crit fails are bugged atm, the crafting station does not dump your resources and close like it is supposed to and like it does on every other type of crafting except structural items. The same thing goes with the sampling macro. Using the macro to sample is not an exploit, using it to sample while you are asleep or are not attending your computer/account is the exploit. I was "turned in" for using the sampling macro while AFK one night andreceived a CSR warning with almost that exact verbage.

You have to be more specifc when you attempt toput someone down. What exactly is it that I don't "knowjack about" ?
It's a bug, a bug is a bug, and exploiting is wrong.
I found a bug the other day that let me complete a delivery mission from >90m away. Would continuing to use this be an exploit? Yes. Is it "still in the game after 15 days?" Also yes.
If you don't like the resource losses, don't be an architect. I'm small, small, small time -- I can only build a handful of structures per week. Yes, I crit.failed my first PA hall, and lost several days' worth of resources, and had to stop and regroup. That's the game.
No, he is just a Sado Masochist and accepts EVERYTHING the Dev team does as the way it should be and is happy with everything they have setup. A sheep that enjoys following his master even when his master abuses him.
Loosing 55000 resources in one click is total and absolute BS.
Loosing subcomponents that have ALREADY been made and PASSED is total and absolute BS.
Crits are part of the game and I don't mind crits but when you loose EVERYTHING in one shot because of lazy programmers, it's a totally different matter.
You should ONLY loose raw materials on a final combine if you crit. To loose EVERYTHING is nothing more than lazy programming. It has absolutely nothing to do with crit falures being a part of the game. You have ALREADY made that subcomponent and took the risk of it crit failing. To loose it all in the end is DOUBLE risk and that total and utter BS.
Sometimes I wonder if this was not intentional that the crafting tools don't zero out on structure stuff because it's ONLY structure related schematics that do this.
UNTIL they fix it so that you only loose raw materials on a final combine, I don't see the harm in this staying the way it is. When they FIX the problem of loosing everything on a final combine, then fix the problem of the tool not zeroing out. Until they can get code that works to only loose raw materials, leave this the way it is.
They simply took the EASY way out when coding in crit fails and Architects are getting ROYALLY SHAFTED. **NO** other crafting profession has the substantial losses we have and quite frankly, it simply is not right.
Ugh, come on, fix the bugs and live with the cool macro system that has been created.

Heh, no, just it's been several weeks since my last large-structure crit fail (the PA Hall). I'm still at about a 10% failure rate, and I've lost more walls than I can count. I only make a couple buildings a week, anyway... I'm not going to lose money for the sake of selling a higher volume.
What I was saying at the time of my PA hall failure, of course, would not have been printable on this board. I came very close to surrendering Arch entirely. And I think I invented some new swear words. 65k resources gone at a click. *sigh*
