ARGH! They get their names back?
Great, now I'm going to be named all my furniture '.' and it's going to look crummy. Why, oh why?

I've always put 2 spaces while making items with no names. They still do not have names.

That wcould be a good workaround for this. If you're making furniture without names, try out 2 spaces and see if that sticks for you.

Yeah this happened to me as well. I used to name furniture like this using a period and only just recently started using the space. A bunch of the new tech consoles that i made using the space now reverted to default names...arrrgh. Ah well.

Could this be a problem by galaxy? Everything I have that is named and labled is still the same after the patch.
I am on Ahazi. I am also on Intrepid and havent noticed any of the names reverting back.

Ok, what if it strips off the first space then your left with furniture with one space left for the next pass.

There are probably other ways it could have happened unintentionally.
It could be a simple programming error that is stripping the last or first space off of a name accidentally and then if that happens the system will see a blank name and replace it with the default. It might never make 2 passes though and therefore only impact names with a single space.

I'm an architect customer. All of the noname furniture I had bought now has default names. Which really PI$$ES me off !
I would like to hear from an architect who can do a scientific test - the question is, does furniture crafted with two spaces revert or not. If furniture crafted with one space reverts, but two spaces does not, that proves a developer conspiracy to screw people over. The only way that could happen is if there was a specific database procedure run that checks IF item name == " " THEN revert it to the default name, which would be a conscientious yet undocumented obliteration of stuff we wanted and paid for.
Why does SOE inflict this kind of thing on us, when all the props they decorate starports, cantinas, hospitals etc with have no names ?

Dumb question from a novice archie but ...
Can u not name things with ALT 0160 or just a . at one end.
Not a purist fix but it works for me.

I have to wonder--what were they doing regarding the new schematics (or anything else) that caused this almost completely unrelated bug? I'm not a progammer, so I don't know how that code works, but it seems weird that one would affect he other like that.
